Post your VCE Results!
« on: December 13, 2021, 04:04:25 pm »
Hi everyone!

I’ve just finished year 11 and completed one 3&4 subject this year: Methods. I was originally hoping for a 48+ RAW, but after the exams (trash) I am expecting (more hoping) a 43+.

With three days until the results are officially out, I am extremely nervous yet also excited. I’m going to post my score here on the day, and I’d be so happy if you guys could too! Just so I don’t feel lonely and I can see how everyone else went.

Any scores, whether you’re in year 11 and did one or more 3&4 subjects, or year 12 and will be receiving an ATAR too. Post it all here and tell us how you feel. Were those results expected? How do they compare to your predictions? Spill the tea! Give us the deets! 😁

Your nervous and excited fellow student,
VCEStudent2034 (coz my real identity belongs to me 😂)

Hey don't be nervous you worked hard, and you should be proud of that!
There is nothing you can do about your results (your study score has probz already been calculated)
Btw I think an admin might make a thread to post results, from going through the 2018-20 results threads. Also some people quote their predictions and provide the actual score on there as well.
Just thought I give you a heads up.
And good luck to everyone with their results!

Hey,

This was last year's VCE results thread.

I feel the nerves too waiting for the results. If you get your results this year and it turns out you're happy with it, great! If not, then that is also okay. Over time, it is likely that you'll be at peace with your results. Feel those emotions, reflect on what went well and what didn't and take those things into future studies (but please don't be hard on yourself as a person). The beauty of doing Units 3&4 subjects in Year 11 is that they can be a trial run.

After all, your study scores are just a snapshot of how you performed on exams and SACs during the year and that ability is fluid, not fixed. Past results aren't an indicator of future results. I hope you're proud of your efforts this year, no matter what number VCAA churn out on their end. :)

Thanks guys 😊

I’ll hang out for the official thread and in the meantime try to force myself to be happy with whatever score I get 😅.

I know exactly how you feel- I got the exact same methods score when I was really hoping for higher. (Good news: It scales to 42.42). It's totally okay to feel disappointed but remember to be kind to yourself. It was a tough year for everyone and 37 is still a very solid score. And now you have another shot next year to use all the study skills you learned!

Methods: 40 -> 45.17
- Slightly disappointed, was hoping for something closer to 43-44 but I'm way past caring now, 40 is still very solid

Chemistry: 50 -> 50
- Holy shit. I did not see this one coming, I must have destroyed the exam

English: 38 ->36.91
- Kind of wished I payed attention to English more, I was starting to get into it a week or two before exams. But oh well, still happy with this

VET IT: 49 ->47.65
- Nice

Physics: 43 -> 44.97
- Pretty happy with this as well, though I was hoping for something closer to 45

Biology: 40 -> 41.04
- Did this in year 11, probably could have done better but bio was so content heavy so I'm quite happy with this

ATAR: 98.6

Overall, very happy, this should easily get me the course I want which is all I care about now.

Damn! You should be so proud of yourself, those scores (and ATAR) are amazing! You deserve a really long break now, that’s for sure! 🤩

Oh damn man I feel so sorry for you. You still did well above the average tho (I think better than like 85% of the entire methods cohort) so it is still good. But now is the time to focus on next year's subjects so that you could still reach your goals
Good luck :)

English: 40 -> 39.22. Honestly it's the subject that I'm the proudest of. I worked my ass off, and put a lot of sweat and tears into it, and even though I just clutched the honour roll, it's the most memorable subject.

Specialist: 41 -> 51.45. Honestly, a real shocker. I was expecting a mid to low 30's score, so getting above a 40 was really great. It was the only subject where I got over 50 after scaling. It was the real MVP of my VCE and really carried my ATAR. Also, since I got a 41 in methods last year, getting the same score felt great, since I see that people tend to do better in Methods than in Specialist by a huge margin.

Latin: 33-> 48.82. Great subject, fun to learn. I thought I screwed up the exam, but luckily I didn't screw it up as badly as I thought I did. Solid subject and very important subject. It wasn't as strong as spec but came in very clutch.

Chemistry: 35-> 39.09. This is the only subject where I'm kinda disappointed in. Luckily it was my 6th subject, but I was hoping for somewhere higher in the 30's, or to perhaps sneak into the 40's. Whatever, it barely counts anyways, and it wouldn't have affected my atar too much anyways even if I did do well.

Biology: 34 -> ????. How do I check the scaling of my 7th subject? Has anyone here also gotten a 34 in Bio to tell me how much it scales? IDRC about it. It could have been a 25 or a 35, I really could not care less.

Wow, congrats! Especially that Spesh score, 40+ for that subject is super damn hard! Well done! 🤩
