Subjects for units 1 n 2

Hello people, I know that this is a very broad question.
The subjects I think I will pick are math methods + specialist maths, English, chemistry, physics and something chill, like health or pe idk yet. My question is how do I know if I'm smart enough to do these subjects? In year 9 I got straight a's  without studying, I know it's far easier than units 1234 but I am willing to put in the time and effort. Btw I genuinely enjoy maths but I'm scared spec will be too hard for me, I hope to pursue medicine or medical physics.
Thank you for answering this question

Hey PattyOOO,
Year 9 is vastly different to Year 11/12, I don't know anyone who got straight As in Units 1-4 without studying (at least for general subjects, I've heard its a different story for applied subjects). I obviously can't speak about the difficulty of specialist (I took the specialist catch-up course at uni and I thought it was alright but it wasn't exactly the same as what you do in high school) but what I can say is that you should definitely give it a go.
If it is going to help you pursue your post-school goals then you should definitely try it out and see how you find it. Try not to stress yourself out too much before even starting it. Year 11 and 12 is already stressful enough ahaha.
I hope this offers a helpful perspective! :)

Hi PattyOOO!

Yr 11 is a time to sus out what you like and what you don't like. Think of it as your safety net before year 12. I would also recommend doing an accelerated subject for example doing unit 1/2 in year 10 and then move on to unit 3/4 in year 11. For spec I would say give it a try. After you've done the subject you can still drop it for another one. You don't know if a subject doesn't know you or not if you don't try.

Hope this helps,
