So glad I found this with only one exam to go.

Methods: 9/10
Very happy. Forgot the restriction when finding  the area of the triangle on question 9 from Exam A. (Like many people I wrote 1.) But was very surprised I could do all the questions. Hoping I cracked 40.

Specialist A: 10/10
Even happier than methods. A couple of little mistakes but far better than I hoped.

Specialist B: -10000000/10
Cried before I walked in. Calmed down. Started reading. Burst into tears again. Pulled it together by 4:00 for the last hour. Heard "five minutes to go" and cried again. I really struggled with spec this year so just glad its over. I'll be amazed if my score is over 30; probably more like a 25.

Chem: 8/10
Probably my best exam yet in terms of work- but I still worry I got things wrong or didn't give all the details I needed to. Would also love to get a 40 (my aim was always to beat to 43 I got in bio, but we'll see...).

Lit: ////
Can't wait until Thursday. Lit is my FAVOURITE subject. I haven't done a practice essay in almost a month so I guess that's what I'll be doing for the next two days.

Would have been VERY different if I had the motivation and interest in my subjects. I regretted not choosing something i was interested in.

English: 5/10 - it's english. don't need more to say. Expecting C

Further maths: 8/10 - Did pretty well. There were two qeustions from both exam that i was not expecting but overall it was fine. Expecting B+

Chemistry: 5/10 - Very mixed. Honestly if i was motivated to study i would have performed much better. Hoping for a C at least.

Physics: 5/10 - Same as chemistry. was too defeated to study. Hoping for C at least.

I'm hoping for an atar of 75.

That's exactly how I felt about spec. I feel like this advice is given a lot but rarely taken seriously until it is far too late hahaha

Congratulations on four so far! Are your exams all finished?  ;D

English: 7/10
Was never my favourite subject, so I didn't really enjoy it but the prompts were quite kind.

Chemistry: 10/10
Loved it, it was a great exam

Physics: 9/10
Also really liked it, it was a little different from the previous years but overall still a very nice exam

Methods: 8/10
That last question on exam 1 was a bit rough, but everything else was pretty good

VET IT: 9/10
Exam seemed pretty fair, except for the one question that shouldn't have been on there

English - 7/10 Pretty average year so pretty average exams. Disappointed all year just couldn't get into it post COVID lockdown stuffed me up.  English was my best subject all year but feel I stuffed this one up as I forgot to refer the background reference in Section C. I reckon that cost me a grade and potential 40+. Still hoping for an A after my stuff up.
Methods - 6/10 for Exam 1 and 1/10 for Exam 2. Just completely lost it and confused with Exam 2.  Lucky if I get a C for my exam and 25 SS /  (and Maths used to be my best subject!)
French Oral - 6/10. General conv OK but the assessor kept pushing and pushing and kept putting me on the spot. Hopefully a B/B+
Chemistry - 8/10. I think I performed better in this exam than the practice exams I've done. Hoping for a high A / or A+
Revs - not too bad, changed my sequence around for French / Russian, hoping for a B+ at least
Got one more to do - French next week

so far only 3 done:
English (mainstream) - probably 7-8/10. tbh i felt alright with it, nothing special nothing bad, happy its over.
Biology - 5/10. Didn't have any good expectations coming in, walked out with the same feeling, no complaints.
Methods Exam 1 - 3/10. Felt incredibly demoralized after question 9. Horrid mental state going into exam 2  :'(

Update:
Methods exam 2: 7/10. Wasn't too bad, i think i did better than in exam 1.
PE: 9/10. felt relatively confident with the exam, few challenging but overall doable.
chem: 5/10. Had no real expectations with chem, it was whatever

English Language: 9/10. Prayed for one of three topics to pop up on the exam, and I got a choice for ALL THREE! And whiffy-whaffy, it was pretty simple too, although Section A was a little bit weird (like one of the questions was literally to "name" a metalanguage term - never seen that before).

Methods E1 and E2: both meh = 6/10. I feel like there wasn't enough of a "medium difficulty" question category; things were either too simple or too difficult and that makes silly mistakes annoying. Bad workperson quarrels with their tools who?

Chemistry 7/10. Overall, the exam didn't feel like a VCAA exam. It was very, very theory based and some of the questions had a questionable amount of marks allocated so I just kept writing essays for everything and praying it'd work out. Lord knows how I'll end up scoring.

Spesh 1: 7/10. They could have given so much more space for working out the last question but, VCAA, look at you. They chose violence.
Spesh: the square root of -1. Like, complex. All the questions were their hardest version and I was living off 4 hours of sleep. Not very sexy. Was so shook by this post

Specialist B: -10000000/10
Cried before I walked in. Calmed down. Started reading. Burst into tears again. Pulled it together by 4:00 for the last hour. Heard "five minutes to go" and cried again. I really struggled with spec this year so just glad its over. I'll be amazed if my score is over 30; probably more like a 25.
and then I saw the negative and went, ahH. Yes. There. Better.

I hope VCAA spesh team has to be fourth in line for coffee and everyone takes longer than two minutes so they're late to their 9am meeting. That exam broke me.

BUT WE GOT THRU! NEXT WEEK WE SHALL ALL BE FREE (I already have been since Chem, how strange this euphoric freedom).

English - 7.5/10, finished with 25 minutes to go lol but at the same time it definitely wasn't my best work.
Data Analytics - 7.5/10, finished and overall happy with how it went but not convinced I got all the marks
Further Exam 1 - 5.5/10, maths is my worst subject so had to guess a couple
Further Exam 2 - 5/10, didn't finish in time so definitely a lot of marks lost
Business Management - 9.5/10, thank you VCAA for blessing us with this exam  :'(
Legal Studies - 8/10, was nice except for the 1000000000 8 mark questions we got

Overall though, I'm not ecstatic with how exams went but I'm more so just happy to be finished with school.  :-\ :-\ :-\

(Part 1)Exams this year were wacky. The main takeaway is that they were of average difficulty compared to other exams of the same study design/past 4 years, but were constructed weirdly and made for harder to do exams.

English Language (8/10): the English Language exam this year had a weird section A where the text given had to 2 modes and the questions were unusual. There was also a lack of formality discussion that led to a slight imbalance in the knowledge that the exam tested but it wasn't difficult. Similarly the essay prompts were out of left field but open enough that I think everyone was comfortable with them. I personally felt like a put up a strong showing throughout the exam which I am glad with, and I am happy with myself for putting in the massive amount of effort I put in throughout the year for this subject which has not agreed with me the entire year. While I have a reluctance towards this subject (which is less than mainstream btw) and am very happy to not have to sit another lesson, I will give credit to the exam for not being hard, but of average difficulty and to myself for really giving it a red hot crack.

Maths Methods (7.5/10): the Maths Methods exam this year was kinda wack. On one hand it was of average difficulty, but again the exam was made differently to separate the cohort. Exam 1 was fairly easy as it usually is, however the last question which was at first glance a standard separator that relied on fairly straightforward visual intuition had so many little details that made everyone trip up. Lots of people including myself were salty because everyone was caught of guard by how the question generated difficulty (more on this later) and we all tanked a fair bit of marks for that. Exam 2 was thankfully standard, although a bit sketchy (relates to wackiness alluded in exam 1 and post intro). A fair amount of people found it somewhat challenging but I would say that it was of completely average difficulty. For my performance, I am someone who is STEM inclined and was shooting high, as I have been all year (near the top but still a little room for improvement) and I think I did well. I was one of those who fell victim to the last question of Exam 1 meaning I tanked a several marks for it and there were a few separator parts in the Exam 2 which I was able to produce an answer for but was not confident in, but other than that, everything else was standard and I believe I performed to a mostly high degree and that's all I can ask for in a seemingly straightforward maths subject that has to transform its exam ridiculously to separate the cohort. Luckily it was of only average difficulty.

Chemistry (8/10): the Chemistry exam this year was above average in difficulty, but still not crazy seeing as VCE science exams never really go out of their way make you absolutely strain your neurons and your understanding of content like maths or english exams do. The questions definitely required you to be comfortable with the content but again didn't need you to teleport far outside the box. A couple sketchy questions popped up in this exam too, but it wasn't too bad. I had choked a couple of questions in my SACs throughout the year, but I was only slightly stressed coming into the exam as I am lucky enough to be confident in chem and knowing that my SACs were harder than the exam. My heart went out to the not so confident students out there during reading time as I could tell that this was harder than normal but again it was very doable with a few practice exams and familiarity with the content ie. you actually learned and you did some revision. Another powerful performance that I can be proud of and shout out to other students as that was definitely a challenging exam.

Physics (8/10): the Physics exam this year was another difficult but doable exam. Same as the chemistry exam this exam required a fairly intimate understanding of content but was nothing absolutely insane or crazy that slowly killed you soul during reading time as you saw what you had to undertake (this coming from a natural nerd). I will say that this years exam was much more of a jump in difficulty and definitely does enough to earn the label of hard. There were definitely a few separator marks that I whiffed, but it was nothing major so I am pretty happy with how I did on the exam.

(Part 2)Software Development (7/10): the Software Development exam this year was fine, both easy and hard simultaneously, which translates to an average exam. I don't really have much to say about the questions themselves because software development is a mess of a subject, but I can say that the questions were consistent with the previous years and insight exams, in fact they were mostly copy-paste, which is actually fine when the subject itself feels like a jumbled trainwreck of junior year theory mushed together with a half assed and at times incoherent attempt at VCE level critical thinking. So yeah props to the exam for keeping at the exact same level of difficulty that allowed me to give a fairly good performance for the 50% of the time that I actually cared.

Exam weirdness: So what do I mean when I say wacky exams? I mean the questions are different to the type of testing we have come to expect from VCAA exams and this caught everyone off guard. This manifested in both easy and hard questions. For example the papaya question in the chem exam was completely open ended with no prompt with what to answer, which means that everyone who writes something should be awarded marks because there was no direction whatsoever in the question. This has been construed as free marks but I would argue that it was intermediate as it still requires you to know and explain a relevant food chem concept as well as take up some time writing and these open ended questions have popped up several times this year, and anyway every exam has easy questions. The other example is the last question of methods exam 1, which at first glance seemed like a standard separator question with a graphical solution, however there were so many details to keep in mind that made the question quite hard to complete, even for the experienced students where every little thing would completely screw you up in addition to throwing you off your game and making you doubt yourself detrimentally. These 2 trends of weird questions actually make up for an average difficulty of exams, but one that made the exams more challenging to complete because the questions were not ones that we were familiar with unlike past exams. This made familiarity with content and grit of the utmost importance, ironically devaluing the practice exams we should use to prepare. Of course saying it like that makes it sound like a well made exam, since sketchiness and ambiguity aside, tests should be able to determine your understanding of content without relying on your smarts and you are right, but I think that gives reason to justify why exams this year were harder than normal, because even though the difficulty was average, the stress, time management and overall being pushed, sometimes to your limits, that make exams widely hated are all present with the foreign questions we faced this year, thus making for a distinctly challenging to complete exam, for which I am proud for everyone to have partook in.

But I guess it doesn’t really matter because we are all done, yay, well done everyone. Sorry for the long post but I guess I needed to get these thoughts off my chest and it also allows for some first hand experience to be documented in what might be a different looking future of VCE exams. All that’s left is to wait for our study scores and ATARs as with the end of VCE exams marks the definitive end of VCE for all the year 12s, it definitely feels surreal but I wish all the best for everyone. Well done on finishing exams and VCE!

Just finished all my exams!
English Language 8/10: The short answer were way unusual and difficult which wa sa pain, but they were only worht 30 of the 80 marks. I felt very confident for the exam despite the fact that I only got 54% on the SAC during the term...idk I just felt like it went well.

Methods 9/10: It was moderatly challenging but I thought that was good, and beisdes a couple really dumb mistakes I think I got away with a pretty good score for the study I put in, which was a null set :)

Spec 6/10: The first 5 is for the tech free which I thought went really well, the other point is for exam 2. I fucked it bad, it was very, very hard...guess I deserved that.

Phsyics: 9/10, 2 hours and 30 minutes, with 15 minutes reading time. Finished it WITH double check like 1 hour and 15 minutes in :(

Chemistry 7/10: I hate chemistry and am planning to drop it, but eh I thought that exam went alright.

Religion and Society 3/4 3/10: Man...my 3/4 and I just feel like I completely botched it. Ngl it kinda hurts but I am so burnt out that I don't really care haha
