I'm not fussy about pens, as long as they work and aren't too heavy, they're good enough to use.

I used one yesterday and I somehow snapped it. >.<

Haha, i always have different pens for different exams, but have never thought of different pens for each essay! I might just do that actually!

Tell me about it! I always run out of black in my 4-in-1, whilst my red, blue and green remain practically full. Sometimes i do transplants and transfer the inside of a single black pen  into my 4in1 Bic. Sometimes the patient responds positively to the surgery, sometimes not.

Last year I used Papermate Profile 1.4B for all my exams because it has the right thickness so it fits comfortably in your hand. Also it is really smooth to write with and you don't need to press hard on the page for it to work. Still using this pen this year. Bought it at IGA.
I suggest bring like 3 for the English exam. I had a brand new one before the exam and after the exam I used like 80% of the ink of one of the pens.

yeah i do that, i would write the intro with one pen and then after the intro switch to another (same colour) and write with it. pretty much from then on i write with which ever one feels more comfortable and smooth on the paper.

i prefer pens with small leads rather than large ones, i feel they are easy to write with and your writing appears more clear/neat.

I used a Sheaffers fountain pen for Lit last year and filled up two script books with no hand cramps whatsoever afterwards. Will be using one again for English, Politics and Media and occasionally use one for SACs. If you do decide to do this, make sure you practice using one beforehand and take two or three in with you in case one runs out of ink. Or swap cartridges.

You won't smudge your writing with your hand either, given that you have to hold the pen at a 45 degree angle for it to work.

I have taken note of all the suggested pens and will be testing them out over the next few weeks. I'll post my findings on here.

Yesterday Mum bought me a Uniball Jetstream
I can tell you know I think it will be hard to beat.

Price (9/10) I think it was around $4.90 which I find great value for money for the quality of the pen.
Grip (8/10): It has a nice size grip, with a thin rubber outer. It isn't too squishy and offers a solid feel.
Weight (9/10): It is a little heavier than your standard Kilometrico or Bic single pen, but obviously not as heavy as your metal fountain pens. I quite like the weight of it, but that's just me.
Speed (9/10): It is super quick across the page! Super smooth with none of that clicking whenever you press the pen down on the page.
Inkage (9/10): So far I haven't had any of what I call "spiderwebs" where the pen leaks. It is 1mm which I quite like, not too bold, but also not not so thin I have to press down hard to get a solid print.

Total (44/50) By no means am I an expert of pens and this is just my own personal opinion, basically just me crapping on.
