Title: Creative Writing
Post by: izzyyym on October 17, 2018, 05:50:14 pm
I know i'm cutting it pretty close here but I was wondering,
Does our creative writing have to be a short story?
Any response will be really appreciated

Heyy!!

Welcome to the forums....

No. It doesn't. It is an imaginative piece.... Can be diary entries, letter, lettera, blog, newspaper article etc...

What are you thinking of???

Ideally yes, I mean other options are out there but idk about them - a 4 page long poem is a bit sketchy.
It should be about the same length as your essays - a little bit shorter maybe by about 5 mins.
If you're struggling, write a series (3) of vignettes that all work together into a big story.
Enhance the sophistication of your story through use of a motif - symbolism or extended metaphor all throughout the text.
Be descriptive but don't go overboard.

Good luck!!

I think I might just try to write another story or maybe even try diary entries. I'm just having no luck. The only thing I can confidentally write is poetry but I agree that a 4 page long poem would look a bit odd.

OK. If you feel confident writing poetry try to write an inter-textual narrative.... so narrative with bits of poems or poems within the story....
