George Orwell's "Shooting an Elephant"

Hey everyone who views this thread,

I was wondering if anyone happened to of read and/or studied George Orwell's critical essay on identity and would be able to give me some tips on relating this text back to how groups can change and shape someones identity and how key events can shape identity. I also need to show how these themes are achieved with the use of literary devices throughout the text.
