CONCEPT HELP PLEASE!

Hey forum users!
I have an assessment task due in less than a week and I desperately need help with a concept!
The task is an imaginative composition that demonstrates your understanding of how truth is explored in writing. It is a 800 word piece. I should use concepts/structural forms from Atonement by Ian McEwan.
I have tried two different stories by now and they really are either unclear in the message, or boorrringg!
I would so greatly appreciate an concept ideas!
I need to use something like an unreliable narrator, metafiction or multiple focalisers.
I could say something about how truth is inherently dependent on individual experiences and cannot be replicated in other people, but I still need an idea for a story!
Please brainstorm any ideas you have to help a friend out!
