The author gives insight to the childhood experience through the use of language, this is seen in the lines "My first shot struck." The author uses first person to explore the perspective of the child and enable the readers to empathise with this child and his experience.

the quote ‘I saw those eyes that did not see’, symbolises memory of her life. The audience perceives an innocent child, blind to the world, as stereotyped as similar to the audience.

Texts are a means of effectively illuminating the impact of human experiences through their insight into the inconsistencies of human behaviour, inviting the reader to see the world differently, to challenge assumptions, ignite new ideas and to reflect personally.

Texts act as a powerful tool by portraying the human experiences in a variety of ways which invite the audience to reflect on themselves while also allowing them to see the world differently through inconsistencies throughout society.
