SHOULD I DO 2 3/4 SUBJECTS IN YR 11

Hi guys!
I did accounting 1/2 last year and so this year I’m in year 11 doing 3/4. I’m thinking about doing busman 3/4 as well but I have not done 1/2.

For those whose done 2 3/4 subjects in year 11 is it more beneficial?
&
Is busman hard to do without 1/2?

Thanks guys!

Hi,
I did two 3/4 subjects in year 11 last year Biology and Further Maths. The workload depends on your specific subject but for me personally, it wasn't too much to handle. However, it is imperative that you have excellent time management skills. I tended to overlook my 1/2 subjects which was definitely not ideal.
For me personally, I found it extremely beneficial, it gives you a head start on what to expect in year 12 and gets your foot in the door.Having only four subjects in year 12 gives you more time to focus on your subjects rather than doing 5 or 6 subjects.

Hi there!

I did two 3/4s in year 11 and think it was one of the best decisions I made throughout VCE. Doing two 3/4s meant:
1) I learnt a number of things which assisted me in year 12; e.g. how VCAA assessments worked, the importance of study designs, how I studied best, etc.
2) I was able to dedicate a heap of my time in year 11 to two subjects which would ultimately contribute towards (and increase) my ATAR.
3) In year 12, I only had four 3/4 subjects, meaning I had more time to prepare for assessments for each subject (which I think helped increase my study scores).

Additionally, I know people who completed 3/4 Business Management last year (with the new study design), without completing 1/2 beforehand who didn't really have any difficulties :)

Therefore, I'd certainly recommend completing two 3/4s in year 11, and doing 3/4 Business Management, despite not having completed 1/2 :)
