Anyone know what to do to get a 40+ ss?

Guys, I've been working really hard for English the past 2 years, I had an amazing teacher last year, however this year I have a terrible teacher. She doesn't even write any notes on the board, she just sits on her chair and talks. I received my creative SAC and only got 60%, i actively seeked feedback from my teacher for feedback, I'd make corrections to improve my piece and she was saying it was really good, but once it was cross-checked I got a score lower than expected. I don't know how else I should improve apart from practicing and writing.

Hi,

Yeah they are generally the way around. not sure if it would be possible for you but if you don't like your teacher try to change them. Other than that you should not be to concern about creative considering you don't have that in exam. For language analysis you should star looking at articles and try to analyse them little by little to get used to it. You should try to find arguments in article as that would help you a lot.

Hope this helps

Agree with the other posts. I had a similar situation to yourself, and the way I went about it was to seek resources online - e.g. study guides, sample essays, or getting others to mark your work on forums such as this :). In particular, I would also put emphasis on 'the big-three' - Text Response + Argument Analysis + Comparative, a good news is that there is a lot of guides and tips online to help you. And finally, I would say focus on writing what you would consider a 'perfect essay' and then get teachers / other students to give you feedback, and continually work on it until you think it's perfect. This was the way I went about these 3 main essays and found that it improved my overall quality since I knew the elements for an 'almost perfect essay' (in my opinion at least). This prevents the common scenario of writing a lot of essays but not actually improving, even if you can improve 1% per essay, after 10 essays that could be the difference between a 9 and a 10 :)

All the best, let me know if you have any questions
