Title: Timetable Information
Post by: melodrama on February 05, 2008, 08:59:53 pm
i was talking to a (non-stalker) friend from melb uni on the train today, and he advised that all melb uni students should choose their sessions before timetable editing is enabled on 12:01am Friday 22 February. apparently timetable editing is like vcaa all over again, so to avoid a clogged system and bad times, it is best to take note of which lectures/tutes you want beforehand.

i think the subject times are here: https://sis.unimelb.edu.au/cgi-bin/subjects.pl

yup.. thats sounds right.
it works on a first come first serve basis so if you are not prepared then some classes you want may be filled up.

VCAA didn't even have timetable editing. Is that what you mean?

You guys are first year students. There are way more spots for you guys in most subjects. It gets harder in second and third year to swap your tutorials around.

Another thing to contend with is actually getting access to editing your timetable at that time. Theres gonna be thousands wanting to edit their timetable at that time as well. Good luck :).

I had to use Alloc8 for UMEP and it didn't work both semesters, I ended up ringing the faculty and I got all the times I wanted, that said, I think priority goes to UMEP kids.

alloc8 was originally designed by the Physics faculty and adopted by Science students. A lot of Arts subjects still do not use alloc8.

Well, I was told to use the alloc8 system for Lit.
