Remember just last year, and 2years back when myspace was "the thing"
sigh, if it wasn't filled 2day with so much useless spam "hey, I don't believe she went to our school click here for nude photos"
or
"look what so and so said about you, click here"
FB is a lot more formal, and less cluttered. Some people myspaces is so laggy, busy,. and clustered with flashing lights,, wallpaper sized images, etc.

2 things ultimately drove me to delete mine:
1) almost EVERY BLOODY PROFILE starts with a bit of some crappy song they think is good. I've lost count of how many times I realised the hard way that I'd accidentally left my volume on high
2) those damn quizzes everyone does and nobody cares about spamming my myspace inbox

Yeah myspace sucks ALOT. They keep copying facebook every time facebook add some new element to their site. Fb Status Updates...Myspace status updates. Fb chat...Myspace chat. Fb liking statuses...Myspace liking statuses. To mention a few...

I do. I got mine at the end of year 12 to keep in touch with everybody after school had finished. I prefer Twitter though (although imo they have different purposes).

I really wanna do a FB page at the end of the year, keep in touch with everyone, but I reckon by end of year FB will be "out of style"
Wonder whats next after FB? Does any1 know any sites that are "emerging"

Highly doubt it, considering it's October and FaceBook is as popular as ever..

Sympathy vote perhaps? :P
And no I doubt facebook will go down in popularity by start of next year, it only just started getting momentum this year. IMO though, facebook should have some kind of age restriction...like 17 and over or something.

Maybe with high school students, but it's been big with uni students since 2007 definitely - pretty much everyone I know at college has had one since their first year.

Yeh, I didn't have one in high school and it wasn't really essential, but now in uni, I'm sure others agree that it's pretty much essential to have one in order to keep up to date with events and friends and so on. I find that once people hit uni, stuff like MSN becomes a lot less popular as people spend less time procrastinating and actually doing stuff. Hence, Facebook becomes the preferred communication alternative really.
