I've been asked to play entry, background and certificate-signing music for some weddings to be held at the Births, Deaths and Marriages Register this Sunday ... the most cliche day of the year -_-
Problem: I've never been to a wedding in my life.
Solution (?): suggest me wedding-ish music!!
I'm supposed to be playing "soothing" and "dreamy" music... preferably classical but if you know any nice jazzy ones etc. that'll do too...

shania twaine lol

Cheesy as and I don't know if it'll suit but "Little Waltz" by Basia Bulat is an awesome number. It might be a bit slow though, have a look on youtube or something.

Just make a good arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon :P

Canon in D - Typical wedding song

well here's the thing... they have weddings from 9:30am until 7pm... I don't think they'll be very happy if I just play Pachelbel over and over again... :P

You can play Canon in all the keys, do a few arrangements, and repeat that a couple of times

Canon in D rock version with the guitar and drums that would be awesome =P

As you mentioned earlier, I agree with your choice of Jesu Joy of Man's Desire :D
I would definitely suggest something Baroque, it suits the best for weddings

my uncle once provoked the wrath of his father by starting a funeral march at a wedding, lol
maybe Ondine? it's often described as 'oneiric'

Go for something extremely cliche
like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFTnFErJEu4&feature=related
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tDYMayp6Dk&feature=related
For lulz, I dare you to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDWgsQhbaqU [In fact, I double dare you]
[Last time I was at a wedding register, they put on a CD :P]

I will if you get me a piano version :P
[this is for a grand total of 23 weddings, no CD will last that long :P]
-
oooh Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No. 2 (Op. 18)
and it goes for like 12 minutes...
