Why did they have to change the name of element no. 112 to Copernicium???
Ununbium was way better! :D
Anyway, who likes the new name?
-
Does it really matter lololol?
I reckon copernicium is better

Well, not really...
It's just an opinion poll >.<
What's wrong with ununbium??? :P

Ununbium is a IUPAC stand-in name for elements that haven't actually been discovered. Now that Copernicium has been discovered, that's why it had to change.

I know, but ununbium sounded kinda cool... :(

copernicium... sounds like copper+nickel+ium
lol

It's a bit of an awkward name... it's either COPernicium so it sounds like copper, or coPERnicium, which has the stress on what's usually an unstressed syllable.
Something like "copernicum" or "copernium" would roll off the tongue easier

COPerNIcium... ugly
Ununbium... priceless :P

Well, they've discovered it for a while now [16 years according to wikipedia], they just haven't gotten around to conclusively proving its existence, getting the paper published, and getting IUPAC to accept the new name they proposed.
And about time they named something after the martyrs of science, but seriously, Cp? CP?!

All these fancy elements that exist for 1/100000000000000000000000th of a second during a nuclear explosion are ridonculous. I approve of the name though.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but it's Cn. Cp has already been discovered (and there have been numerous CP violations in physics).
