Hello VN!
Seeing as it is pretty late now, I don't even know if my thread is posted under the right topic. So feel free to move it mods, if there is a need to. :)
I was wondering if any of the musically-inclined people in the VN population has any recommendations for a qualified piano teacher to prepare myself to take AMus (piano). I am planning to take my exam in December and I will get started on my programme notes this holiday (I swear). :P
Basically, I am stuck with an average teacher who can, well, kind of teach, but he doesn't go into the details and I'm not even sure if he's cut to teach diploma. (He has a daughter who's in prep and learning under another teacher - just because she's too mischievious for him to teach.)
And I know that if this goes on any longer, I'll probably flunk my AMus seeing/hearing that the passing rate is only 50%. (My mate passed Grade 8 with a really good distinction score and he barely passed his recital by 3 marks (out of 60).)
Any help is appreciated and I would take into account any advices offered. :)

I may or may not be a little biased :P but he helped a 10 year old get his L.Mus with distinction. He is seriously amazing, my love for music is entirely thanks to him resurrecting it when I was on the verge of giving it up.
However he charges approx. $140/hour (though he varies it depending on how much he likes the student haha and also depending on their personal circumstances... he gave me free lessons for a while because my parents were refusing to pay for them and I didn't have a job at the time)

If I may add my two bucks worth, I would recommend Rebecca Chambers (although she did have a baby like a year ago and might not be teaching many students at the moment)
She was my accompanist for most of my later exams and she is an amazing pianist (she also won Young Australian of the Year in 1996)

Yeah, Glenn's a great, experienced teacher; he examined me for my AMus lol.
Quite a few of the piano examiners also teach and they are excellent teachers (refer http://www.ameb.unimelb.edu.au/site_pages/about_pages/examiners.html#Pianoforte)
