Go to Myer. I got bored shitless last time I went there when my date but she killed a good 8 hours and got her dress there for $150 apparently.

cos you can get a nice dress from pretty much anywhere for under $500

Chadstone. I got my formal dress from Vivid, and that place had some nice ones.

Your formal is this late in the year?

Anyway, i gather that if you go independent boutique stores there are some unique dresses there. Went along high street with a friend recently and she bought something she liked.

Myer
Forever New
Dotti
Asian shops (cause they're cheap!)

Myer's probably the best cause there's alot of variety if you go to the one at Chadstone or city.

Shoe shopping is the absolute worst!
Mums like 'OMG LETS GO!!!!!111ONE ONE'
Helllllll no. I'll wear the shoes i've got thanks. They're fine.
People are so consumed with taking taking taking and it pisses me off. Especially the girls at my school 'oh my god i got this dress in from new york its only like $2000' :\

/end global poverty rant

Don't buy formal stuff from those cheap asian shops.
When you're getting your photos taken, your strap will break and TADA!! camera guy gets excited

I find it funny a guy knows this...

I like to shop and I'm not afraid to say that I like branded things if I could afford them. That doesn't mean I don't care about poor people.

maybe that might happen but who knows ..if the camera man will get excited....depends on whose wearing too ;)

I suggest:
-Forever New
-Ynot (for cheap)
-Dotti
-Bardot
-Valleygirl
-Vintage shops
-hmmm check DFO
Just walk into any small shops in shopping centre really, sometimes you can find awesome dresses at shops you never expected to find them. But make sure you dont happen to have the same dress as someone else. That would be a major crisis. lol

i gotta get a suit for my graduation.

Don't buy expensive stuff now, you might get bigger and can't fit into it later on. I hate how training causes size to never be constant so sometimes clothes don't fit :(
For example, my school pants waist is like 10 cm too big, it always falls down
Title: Re: Formal dresses?

I just dont see how showing ass looks good. I understand skinny jeans, tight shirts, button up shirts, most indie shit, emo or whatever, you think it looks good but revealing your arse I just dont see any merits. Youd get more girls with your pants around your waist or your ankles. You cant choose halfway.
