Oh this might be a little off topic but say a university needed to look at my GAT scores ...which GAT would they look at?, because I've done 3 GATs

Definitely not a Humanities person :P

Hahah I am presuming that applexy had a "every question can be answered with C" approach lol
-
lol. I remember I left 10 questions because I was tired and cbfed. ROFL.
ZOMMMGGGG, YEAH, exactly ;) C is the way 2 go :P
-
The latest one?
Actually. No. They select the best one :)
-
According to the gat, I'm a humanities kid xD
Writing - 43
Maths/science - 48
Humanities - 50
Last year I got 50 in the maths/science one, grr :(
Edit - but I showed a big improvement on the other two xD both 6 higher than last year.
-
Writing - 24 (meh i really didnt care what i got for lit this year)
Maths/science - 42
Humanities - 46 (wtf im best at sciences..jibbed again!)
-
eeeeeek my gat scores this year are worse than last year!
written comm: 43
maths/science: 43
humanities: 43
bahaha. all exactly the same. what does that make me haha? my humanities score sucks compared to last year though! and the essays, like who evens writes something coherent for them haah
-
i got below state mean for maths/sci and human/arts rofl
-
Written communication: 45 (33/40)
Maths/Sci/Tech: 45 (33/35)
Humanities/Arts/SOSE: 38 (29/35)
A slight improvement compared to last year for me
-
Hey!!! for written communication I got 32/40 so 1 more mark would have got me a 45 wowww
-
Said i got:
Written Communication 40
Humanities/Arts/SScience 37
Maths/Science/Technology 26 ROFL
-
the GAT's a joke... as memory serves, i got 33 for written communication in yr11. wasn't a very accurate predictor of my english score ;D
-
my gat scores were better than my actual scores haha.
43 in maths/science.. 27 in methods anyone?
-
Written Communication: 47 (last year I got 35 and I got 44 for lit this year, lol)
Maths/Science: 43 (last year I got 37 and I only got 33 for methods)
Humanities: 43 (I got 46 last year but I got 44 for eco and 50 for psych)
I'm really surprised about written communication. I thought my argumentative essay was really good, but my Antarctica essay was absolutely awful. I also thought I'd get a bit lower for maths and a bit higher for humanities.
I got 3 questions incorrect for humanities and 3 incorrect for maths and I end up getting a 43 for both. Yet, I lost 5 marks for the written communication and I got a 47. How does that work?
-
Written Communication- 45
Maths/Science- 39
Humanitites: 46
What does a 'standardized score with a deviation of 7" mean?
I'm not looking foward to doing it all over again next year lol.
-
Written communication: 40
Maths/science/tech: 43
Humanities/arts/social sciences: 37
:)
-
Written Communication - 34
Mathematics/ Technology- 45
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences- 46
I really should have chosen a maths
-
What does a 'standardized score with a deviation of 7" mean?
Something you'll understand in methods next year.
It means basically the scores are like a bell curve, mean is 30, 68% are within 1 sd (23-37), 95% are within 2 sd (14-44), 99.7% within 3 sd.
Basically the exact same way vce raw scores are :)
-
Oh i get it, thanks cara.mel :) And well done on the brilliant ENTER, you must be ecstatic!
yeee methods next year....
-
Written Communication: 32 (probably the worst essay I've every written lol)
Maths/Science/Tech: 33
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences: 40

There is hope for me yet lol
-

At least you got the required score LOL
-
Written Communication - 40
Mathematics/ Technology- 48
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences- 38
I should have broken a leg and asked for a derived methods score.
-
Written Communication: 40
Mathematics/Technology: 46
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences:42
Hmm... I did better in year 10, maybe it's because I actually tried :)
Oh and these scores are better than some of my subject scores >.<
-
Going by those GAT results I can't see how you did so badly =S
Are you pulling our leg? lol
-

You might not have gotten anything if you ran in front of a car... haha
-
what does the gat do exactly in terms of affecting scores?
i got 48, 48 and 50 in the gat, and my enter/subject scores were quite higher than i expected. did i just have low original expectations or did the gat really make a difference?
-
The gat is acts as an insurance policy, just in case your exam results are much lower/higher than your sac scores (by heaps) then the vcaa looks at your gat to see what happened... or if you cant for some reason attend an exam they can use the gat and your sac scores for the subject to derive a score for you...
Hope that helps :)

Just being a bit nitpicky here, but they also check if your scores are much higher or lower than your GAT scores, as a double check.

Oh yeah that too lol ...
-
Written communication: 34
Maths/science: 45
Humanities: 38
Lol this feels so weird because im doing so many more humanities than science/maths! o.0 hmm maybe i should consider doing spesh n all the sciences now XP n for the written one, i just hope they didn't take into account that I'm ESL because im relying heavily on it to get a good study score - hoping for 45+ >.< (except if my school has marked me too leniently and sucked up to me too much, i should get at least a 40 i reckon)
-
Written Communication: 26/40 = 36
Maths/Science/Technology: 33/35 = 45
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences: 26/35 = 35
If only they were reversed with my actual study scores. Makes me wonder how I would do if I had picked specialist maths instead..
-
Written communication: 45
Maths/science: 34
Humanities: 31
I did much better last year ;D
-
Mine was waaaaaaaay higher than I expected. Can't remember all my results from last year, but I think I got 42 for Mathematics. This year:
Written communication - <13/40 = <20
Mathematics/Science - 34/35 = 48
Humanities - 31/35 = 41
I got a lot higher for written communication last year, no clue what happened this year (I think I became lazy :idiot2:)
