I was wondering...who is the youngest year 12?
and what is the youngest age allowed to be in year 12?
just curious
-
As far as I know, there isn't any age requirement for Year 12. As for the youngest year 12, it would have to be Martoman next year. :D

Martoman is 15 and in year 12.
-
i once went to a school where this student skipped 5 years, ie he was 12-13 and in year 11 doing some year 12 subjects.
-
Martoman is 15 and in year 12.
nahh martoman was originally doing year 12 over three years, so currently in year 11 but i think trying to make it the final year?
hmm a friend of mine will be finishing at 16, pretty young :\
-
yeah one of my friend's is in year 12 atm and 16, she got like a 49 in methods i think? and something high in some other subject :P
-
Not to brag or anything, but I'm doing year 12 and I'm turning 12 next week...

Seriously though, I remember something about some 13-14 year olds completing year 12 in NSW several years ago; from memory they killed it too. But a quick search has not yielded any match.
-
Someone from my cohort (i.e. my age) skipped about 43847328947389 years and finished year 12 while I was still in year 7/8 (can't remember), she's now almost finished her masters degree
-
why bother getin 92.5 at 15 when you could do so much better in a couple of years time..

if you only need 92.5 .. why waste time at school?

saw matty last week at derrick ha lecture, all the ladies were squeezing his cheeks going on about how cute he was
100% confirmed he is 12.
-

because ATAR doesn't mean anything, and high school is just an obstacle to going on to achieving bigger and better things. if all you want to do is a science degree, then an ATAR of 90 will more than suffice. why waste 3 or 4 extra years in high school when you could have done a degree in that time?
to get a meaningless ATAR of 99+...absolute waste of time and effort.
-
^exactly, atar means nothing after you're in your uni course. seriously. nobody cares anymore.

this makes me feel retarded doing yr 12 as an 18 yr old and these young ppl will get better atars than me
-
I don't see why anyone would want to rush forward. Not everything is a race. We all die anyway, so savour life as much as possible. Plus, year 7-10 is the greatest fun you could ever have in your school life

she is amazing.
-
There are things that you can have in high school that you may not have as you grow older.
-
*is in a state of confusion over m@tty's real age*
-
ohh if i stayed at the accelerated program at my old school technically i could finish at 16 (16 and 7 months?? :P), there would have been one or two who finished at 15 (or just turned 16)

its so sad . we got kids my class finishing at 15 who will be getting the highest enters in our school.

Dude, why rush high school? "Its the best time of your life".. Girls, friends, girls, DotA, games, Study etc = Great.
I'll be finishing year 12 at 17 0.o
-
I should've finished high school at 16 -_-. (But because high school in Australia is 6 years, I guess It's okay to graduate at 17.)
Oh and getting accelerated can be tough times. My classmates are -- a little bigger in my perspective, and a little cruel.
Old times. lalala.
-
^ Who cares :P
-
So Terry Tao was born in Australia, moved to America yet has some sexy british accent?
How does that work :s
-
My sister's skipped two years... I'm hoping she'll do a three-year VCE, otherwise she'll graduate at 16.
-
I think a girl in year 11 is 15.
Well, she looks it.
P.S i'm 10 years old, i win :D
-
lemme just put this out there lol.
in my class ( accelerated class this year ) . the oldest person is 17.
we have 2 15 year olds .. who might be finishing this year
and just like myself . every 1 else is 16 ..
it sucks
because there are 2 15 year olds probz gonna get the best ATAR in school.
and ontop of that
you never feeel ... " good" about yourself .. since everyone else in the class is same age , or younger than you
lol FML

if you're cute punch them in the balls and go and hide around their girlfriends and they will protect you.
this trick got me through year 7

You guys must go to major cool ass schools where everyone is Asian/Indian (NOT STEREOTYPICAL AT ALL)
I don't think we've ever had anyone complete VCE that is >17
I'm older than 17...lol
In my opinion I don't like the idea of rushing kids through school. Are their friends their age or their peers? I guess it's not really a big problem in the long run, but just a thought. Ah well, whatever tickles their fancy.

We haven't had anyone less than 17 complete year 12.

I skipped one year level in primary school and I'm in the Accelerated Program at secondary school (partial one year skip)... so technically.. I'm doing English and Methods 2 years earlier. :D
