Title: curious incident a literary novel?

We have to do a reading journal for literature and we need to write on two "literary texts" of our choice.  Do you think The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime would be ok?

Labeling something as 'literary' is always really problematic especially with more recent texts, but I personally think Curious Incident would fit.
