Title: Pokemon SOulSIlver - Yes pokemon... :P
Post by: onerealsmartass on November 26, 2010, 06:23:36 pm
So with all the spare time i will have during these summer holidays, i plan to finally play pokemon soul silver.
If any of you VNers have already played it, what are some pokemon that you can catch during the game that will strengthen your party?
Also which starter did you choose? Im not exactly sure which one to choose, im thinking cyndaquil cos his awesome and i wanna get through thr game quick and there are some pretty good water and grass pokemon that you can catch.

you have wifi? add me~ FC: 3095-2723-5244

go on serebii.net > Pokemon of the Week and read the guides
Top tier pokemon include - Garchomp, Glisicor, Togekiss, Blissey, Heracross, Skarmory (and more)
and to answer your question, I chose Cyndaquil since Johto is overloaded with water types and im not a fan of grass types anyway although I haven't used starter in my current team

well i just want a strong party to get me through the story mode, then i'll think about playing online.
ATM im thinking:
Typhlosion
Umbreon
Lapras or Poliwhirl
Magnemite
Fearow
Espeon or Hypnos or Abra
These are potentials: Gengar, Heracross, Victreebell, Politoed, Togekiss

Do you mean Alakazam here (instead of Abra)? That is a strong team though, although maybe consider vaporeon for the water spot in your team... Try and fit a dragon pokemon (Dragonite for example) as well, as they are powerful

Whoops yeah thats what i meant :)
Also the only thing is that you get a dratini lvl 15 i think towards the end of the johto, and i cbf lvling it at that time xD
But then again i could just trade one over at the start. lol

Well i played up to goldenrod a while ago when i had some spare time, but ive decided to restart.
The game graphically looks very good, most the features are similar to platnium.
From what ive been told you are able to vs all the johto and kanto gym leaders for a second time after beating them all once, which then allows you to vs Red whose team is in the mid 80s.
There is also batttle frontier.

All I ever played was Pokemon Silver on GameBoy. I had a level 100 Mewtwo and I duplicated it like 6 or 7 times - cheap, I know. I won with one shot every time. Hence, it got boring after a while.

Since then, I'm totally lost in the amount of new pokemon and characters that have been introduced. What ever happened to just having Ash, Brock and Misty?!

I EV train :B but I haven't bothered to collect those battling items (Life Orb, Expert Belt etc) from the Battle Tower - now that's time consuming :(

Back in like 2007/2008.  All the online Pokemon simulators make it pointless for me now.  :p

Yeah i know, my mate at school showed me his pokemon, and he had Blissey with 650 odd HP, massive SP def over 400!! He didnt even do it legit... Just plugged some no.s into a program and he has a beastlly pokemon.
I do agree that it is kind of pointless when most people (NOOOBS) are using these programs to cheat...

Like my brother... A lv100 caterpie with fire blast, hydropump, curse and surf is just wrong...

A caterpie because he thought it would be really funny to see a tank as pokemon that is usually really weak. I thought it was simply cheating...

LOL if he vsed someone with another lvl 100 pokemon, it would still probably beat his caterpie :P unless its a weedle or something feeble, would be a good battle tho xD

Give it the exp share, keep doing the elite 4 for money and they level up pretty fast. Hardest part is getting the first pokemon to 100 so that you can actually farm your way through :P
