So I notice since the upgrade the new chat, fails?
Sorry to be so negative, but will we be able to get our old chat back soon? :(

The chat is still there, the upgrade just pointed it to the wrong server. You can connect via any irc client or you can google for a web based one.
The server is irc.freenode.net and the channel is vce
