I made a thread about this in the morning but it disappeared.
Anyway, anywhere in the CBD or surrounding inner city area would suffice.
UMelb libraries are only open til 2am which is kinda useless seeing as public transport doesn't operate then...
All I need is a powerpoint for my laptop.
-
Hahaha and why would you need to be studying 24 hours per day?
Perhaps buy a unit by yourself and then you can work 24/7 in peace and quiet, without the reliance on public transport :P

Haha, that is the dream some day but I can't afford it now... this semester is gonna be death. :/

The ground floor of the ERC. Isn't that open 24/7?
Or befriend a postgraduate engineering student. Their lounge on Grattan Street is Awesome with a capital A.

Libraries (ERC included) are only open 24/7 during exam periods. And 1st year is a refreshing walk in the park compared to 2nd/3rd :(
Try RMIT, they might have something. Maybe one of the residential colleges would have rooms you could just walk into.
Also, stop studying past 2am

24 hour maccas? :(

24 hour maccas? :(
Because I don't already eat enough Quarter Pounders. :p Could be a desperate option though.
I can't get any meaningful study done at home because my brother has pretty much moved in permanently and between his sleep time requirements, TVs roaring in the background and lack of space, I am not going to get anything done.
Anyway, I'll try and look around and work something out.
Keep the suggestions coming. :)

Monash's Caulfield library closes at midnight from next week (except weekends). Nobody checks if you're a Monash student or not. You could just study there til midnight and then go to bed? :P
edit: I see you wanna study til 2am :\ that's crazy. Caulfield is close to all sorts of public transport so you might need to compromise and leave earlier for the sake of being able to get home

Yeah, might just stay at Melb til last tram and then head home. This semester is gonna blow. :/

I don't think they are. ERC & Baillieu closes at like 11-12 and Brownless Biomed is open until only 2am.

I am not 100% sure and you guys would know better than me...but apparently there was a sexual assault so now they close earlier.
It makes so much sense deciding to keep the brothel open til 2am as a measure to drive away sexual predators. ::)

Trams still run at 2am? Wow... i thought they stopped around 12 like the trains...
You'd be hard pressed to find something open 24 hours not during the exam period. I don't think they'd get enough people to justify keeping it open, plus, it would be a magnet for all kinds of bad things at those hours.
Besides a macca's or a pub or something, you won't really find that much open that late during the regular week. If your brother is giving you trouble try find another room in the house or something if possible.

I second this, at this rate by the time you graduate you would of survived 6 heart attacks, 4 strokes, 3 caffeine related heart attacks and 12 sleep deprivation induced trips to narnia....
-
Keep it up dude, I'll sesh some all-nighters with you at maccas if you want. ;)

For anyone interested turns out one of the monash caufield computer labs is open 24 hours
-
Swinburne have a "Late lab" section of the library that's available 24 hours. You need to be a Swinburne student though, as you need to swipe your student ID card to get in when it's unstaffed.
