Title: Why???
Post by: helenv on August 26, 2011, 09:00:06 pm
Hi!

Just wanted to know: Why does having people from Vietnam over in Australia make doing Vietnamese harder?

I don't really get it.

Thanks! :)

well since vce vietnamese isn't spilt up into first language and second language like other LOTEs such as Japanese and Chinese the vietnamese international students will have an advantage since Vietnamese is their first language and those like me who are born in Australia, Vietnamese is my second language.

However, international students don't really have that big of an advantage since in the exam there are sections you have to write in English and that is our strong point so in these sections, we have the advantage.
Also international students think the subject is easy so generally will not try which will give us australian born an advantage if we try hard at viet
