As many of you know, private or lets say accelerated schools offer scholarships for sports students their talent thus its not surprising seeing so many AFL players getting 90+ enters, its all about organisation.

(A slightly old thread, nevertheless) HOLY SHIT FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE SMART!!!
All I know is that Dawes from Collingwood is doing Law at Deakin. You need what, 90+ for that??
And I'm pretty sure Beams is doing some Sports Management shit somewhere.
Luke Ball is pretty intelligent, disregarding his ENTER, you can tell by his eloquence. He's the president for the AFL Players Association isnt he??

Yet, this is why people sports player have their stereotype:

That is why I doubt half of them even finished school.

Yep, Bally is quite smart! You can tell just by the way he speaks.

AFL players struggle with reading and maths, the AFLPA reveals:

I'm not surprised really. Its not like a VCE or equivalent is a pre-req for becoming a football player. LOL

True this: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/football-is-not-the-limit-of-player-skills-20100406-rpdr.html
Well, for some players at least.
I suppose its like anything, I guess. You get people who are smart as hell, but then you get those that are the dumbest shits around.

Im pretty sure Riewoldt can speak German, or is in the process of learning German.

well if you do football at a high enough level to warrant AFL selection, that's a fair chunk of your time gone, so you would expect their scores to be lower, even if they are as smart as average as the general public
