if i go overboard on muck up day and get expelled, what happens to my atar/study scores, assuming i do my exams at another school
-
I dont think your scores will be affected, you just have to do your exams elsewhere.
-
so there is really no point in giving any thought to getting expelled, other than a little bit of a bad mark on my "record", that im beginning to think is made up too
-
Don't get expelled, your school could stop you from sitting exams.
-
how can they do that? roughly
-
^ Why are you wanting to get expelled??
-
i don't want to get expelled, it's just a possibility
they say they will expel anyone who comes drunk on muck up day... but i dont think they will be strict on that
-
They can't stop you from sitting your exams, you could always sit them at the Exhibition Centre anyhow
Also, there is no "record" that you speak of :P that's made up, although when employers later contact your school, they will probably be informed you were expelled :)
A group of guys at my school got expelled for muck-up day antics last year :P
-
legends.
and do we really have no "permanent record" or file that sticks with us...
are you fucking with me
i have three days of school left and i discover this now?
fuck my life.
-
No, you don't have a permanent record, however, I'm stressing that employers will find out that you got expelled if you do get expelled and if you choose to do something stupid to get expelled don't regret it when you lose a job opportunity because of it years down the track.
There's no "file" - but there are ways of finding out your history :)
-
you make the assumption that i will apply for a job...
in Australia, we have this awesome thing called the dole
-
Since when do employers contact your school? =s

I put some of my teachers down as references when applying for jobs :) - but I think considering you have your school on your resume, employers can contact your school I guess :P

Of course they can stop you from sitting exams, your school has the choice to terminate your contract with VCAA and effectively end your year/VCE.

No such thing as a permanent record... you've probably been watching too much television.

This is what I've heard too.

Thanks :) Yeah I love Hunter, probably one of my driving sources of motivation to become a journalist. In particular that quote is astonishing, pretty much summarizes how I feel everyone should live their lives.

No, as long as you've met satisfactory attendance and SAC requirements, you're permitted to sit exams at the Exhibition Centre
Even if your school bars you from sitting exams at there school, you have the option of Exhibition Centre or another school, they don't have the power to bar you from sitting an exam, nor do they have the power to stop you from sitting a SAC, even though it is at their discretion whether you get an S or an N, I'm sure of that :)
