Ok. So I know that there is a similar theard asking what your favourite anime is, but anime and manga are really different. So I was just wondering what everyone's favourite manga is and if they have any recommendations.
I'll start off.
Some of the current mangas that I'm reading and have fallen in love with:
Noblesse
One Piece
Bleach
Tower of God
Dr. Frost
Hitman Reborn
Life is Money
Black Butler

I'm currently reading Claymore. I'm not sure if I'd label that as a 'favourite'.
I'll probably start on The Breaker after exams.
My favourite manga... I don't really know.
Death Note is really the only manga series that I've completely finished reading.
I tend to fall way too out of date with other manga (Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball etc.) and/or just stop reading for long periods and forget what was going on.

I totally know what you mean. But at least they bought back the captains :3 I can go fangirl again *goes off to la-la land*
Is The Breaker anygood?
Sad thing is, I start a heap of mangas then I foget about them :S

Dunno what your tastes are but The Breaker is pretty close to my all time favourite, so I shall "endorse" it. :P
And yeah, Bleach would have been good to finish after the epic troll saga but I would like to get a bit more backstory on Urahara and Isshin before it ends for good.

death note is a must for all manga fans, as for detective conan I've been reading it since grade 5/6 so I absolutely love it, if you're into detective/mystery shit give it a shot

I've read a little bit of Detective Conan, it's pretty good from what I read of it (only read the first few volumes though).

Umm yeah it's action, though the first 20 chapters might not do that much justice. :P
And xZero, you can't really call yourself a "manga fan" if you haven't read Death Note at some point. >_>

[suspicious]I'm not entirely sure if this forum has one of those quote thingies that you can minimise/maximise, but the best option that I know if is to just write "Spoiler Alert" before it and make the text really small using the font size thing [size = 4pt]without the spaces between size=4pt though[/size][/suspicious]

ooh...bride of the water god is good too but its korean manga.....as you can see im a shojo freak...so yeah :D

Man I just recently finished watching Usagi Drop, but stupid I.G Production didn't adapt the whole manga and I heard the 2nd half of the manga is the meat of the whole story, might be the first manga I'll ever read... lol

Have you seen the classics yet? :D Clannad+Clannad AS, TTGL, Code Geass+Code GeassR2, FMA:Brotherhood? Those are a must watch for any anime fan haha you will shed manly tears in each of them as well ;)
Some other (quite recent and new) animes you should definitely check out are: Steins;Gate (man this anime just made it into my top 5 of all time, so good), Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Same company as the one who made Steins;Gate, quite similar too, friggin love it) and Usagi Drop (heart-warming slice of life anime), Maid-Sama (shoujo, pretty funny series) and Ao no Exorcist (typical shounen, very good).
Also currently airing animes which are extremely good too are: Mirrai Nikki (similar to death note ;)), Guilty Crown (probably the best visuals and animations out there), Fate/Zero (which finished airing not so long ago).
But yeh limme know which genres you like, I'm an anime junkie lol can recommend heapsssss xD
EDIT: Oh yeah since you're a pretty big shoujo fan (i'm one too ;P) check these famous ones out:
Itzura na Kiss, Special A, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Cardcaptor Sakura (duh lol), Glass Mask (2005 version), kimi ni todoke, Nana, Ouran High School Host Club, lovely complex, Kaleido star, ginban kaleidoscope

i stopped reading deathnote after i read the blurb of one of the last volumes and found out (something happens)
i was shattered and returned all the volumes to the library
but i watched the movies :) they were really gooood
