Could someone please help me out. I got an A on the mid-year and I'm thinking (hoping) an A on the end of year. My SACs would probably be an A+. What kind of study score would I be looking at roughly?
-
Probably 38-41 raw :)
-
Oh, thank you! Do you know how likely a 40 would be?

It would be more likely if your As are high-ish, and your SACs are pretty high too :)
-
rohit what about
Midyear : A
End of year: A +
and Sacs A+
-
sorry for asking but what about sac score either high A or low A+, with mid A+ in unit 3 exam and high A to low A+ for unit 4 exam? 40ish?

BIOLOGY ... is the hard!

I got 42 (raw) with this :) Having said that, my A+ in exam 2 was a 70+/75, not sure about the A.

You reckon a+ mid year, a or a+ end of year, and sacs a+ will land me 40+?

You reckon a+ mid year, a or a+ end of year, and sacs a+ will land me 40+?
A+ on all three guarantees 39+

true that but bio is so crazy.... i mean, if you look at spesh this year...
get a 30...and you will end up with a score around 41 right?
now, to get a 40 in bio i believe requires much much much much more work!
-
Whats the lowest score you could ever get with three As?
-
I got Mid C+ for mid years, And my SAC's are between High B to Low B+, and i get about a mid C+ for end of years would i get 30+?? I'm Hoping for a 30
-
34-5 probs herc
yeah you would makari
-
U3: 65/75
Sacs: High A
U4: 65/75 (assumption)
Any chance of 43-45?
-
yes
probably 43 ish because of your SACs (is that raw, or after scaling, what's your cohort like)
-
Sorry Bazza, Sacs is high A+, strong cohort, am probably ranked 3 or 4.
-
bazza 50 for bio? lucky man haha
-
Sorry Bazza, Sacs is high A+, strong cohort, am probably ranked 3 or 4.
then i would definitely expect you to get 44 +
bazza 50 for bio? lucky man haha
that's what i hope for :)
may need a bit of luck with the marking this exam
-
how many hours did you put into this subject LOL
-
any idea what i can get with
A (119) U3
Low A sac avge

Hmmm I reckon ur looking at a ss of around 38
-
U3 - C+
Sacs -A/A+
U4 - estimated 55-60/75
What would I be looking at roughly?
Cheers :)
-
Mid Year- A+ (No idea on what I would have gotten)
Sacs- A+ (Average cohort but ranked first)
End Year- Hoping for a 68+
Any chance of a 45? Or am I looking at low 40's at least?
-
yes that would definitely net you a 45+
-
hey guys i got probly A+ for the sacs but mid year was only a b+ cos my class like mised this bit i didnt understand but ive been imporiving like learning from notes etc so im hoping end of year about high50s to low 60s. thanks
-
hey mate thats cool i was hoping like maybe 37 38 is that possible ??
-

-

Firstly, the "toughness" has nothing to do with what grades are needed for a certain score
Secondly, even 3 low A+ can yield a 38 or 39, an A+ (that will probably be standardised down) a B+ and an A in the two exams generally won't net you a 40.
It's unfortunate, yes, but it's the truth
cool youre stool mate, dont need to get so harsh.
-
I thought low 60s was an A+, so if you had a b+ mid year and an a+ end of year, that could be a 40.
-
high 50's low 60s -> exam 2 = A
last year cut off like 62.5
ye nah but if he got 63 it would be A+ and then he can get 40
-
Dont be so tough on kaurman. 40+ is possible ive seen it happen before
-
Dont be so tough on kaurman. 40+ is possible ive seen it happen before
It's being realistic, not tough. With 2x low A+ and a B+, 40 is a rare occurrence.
-
do you reckon
SACS: high A - low A+
EXAM 1: low A+
EXAM 2: mid A+
will give at least a 40? pleaseee? :O
-
just a wondering, how does sac scaling work? what's it mean when people say they got a strong cohort or a weak cohort I dont really understand any of this yeh
-
What would
Exam 1 - A
SACs - Mid A
Exam 2 - 60/75 get me? :)
Weak cohort & probably ranked 5th or 6th..
-
Hmm if I had a stronger cohort, would my study score be higher?
-
Hey, I'm not sure if anyones still on this topic...but i might as well answer..
Heaps of my friends did biologys 3/4 last year
and with Exam 1 A and Exam 2 A and SAC A+ (around 22/25 average) they got 39 Study score
whilst another friend of mine for 38 with A A A (19/25 sac average) but i'm guessing his exam mark pushed his sac mark up.
Also another friend got Ex1: B Ex2: A SAC: A and got 36 so i'm guessing the A on exams for you to get 37-39 is low-medium and high A will get you around 39-41 with another high A.
So you should expect anything from 37-41 :D
NOW someone HELP ME PLEASE haha...
I got A+ Mid Year A+ Sac average and i'm pretty sure A+ end of year..
Mid year A+ was 67/75 and my SAC average is 24.5/25 haha...so pretty much 25/25
If i get...67/75 again on end of year..what do you guys reckon i could get??
xoxo
-
Aahh...45 haha i'd be ok with that i guess...wish i can get more though!
Would it make any difference if i'm top of all year 12 bio students in my school??
Aiming for 48
-
I got 67.5 and 67.5 for both of last years exams,
i got 199/200 form sacs (after moderation)
I got 47
-
^ so 45 is about right, exam 1 slightly easier, mid SACs, not high. If your top of your year level at Balwyn i would say there's a good chance you could get high A+ SACs meaning potentiall a 46 with those exam scores (JDog, what school are you at? what was your rank ? Av raw SAC mark?)
-
I didnt know you could get half marks...
-
I didnt know you could get half marks...
The exam is marked twice, so for a question one marker could give you 0, while the other gives you 1, so an average of 0.5.
-
OH! Thats soooo good!!!
Why didnt anyone tell me this BEFORE?!?!
haha ok thats good then..because my exam marks maybe higher than what i've written there!
Oh wells, i'll just wait till Friday
So nervous :'(
-
Keep in mind that the biology markers are complete cunts. They are extremely strict and harsh with their marking, so if you marked your paper yourself using suggested solutions, don't be too surprised if your actual marks are lower than your prediction
-
Yeah I know! :(
My friend got a 50 in biology last year and he was getting 68 on prac exams.
It really all depends on how they've marked me because i studied my ass off for bio this year.
I'd be crushed with anything less than 46

The ones who marked my unit 4 paper were nice-ish :)
