Seeming as I'm doin the subject next year, does anyone have economics notes they could post here so I could have a read at what we will be doing over the holidays :D
-
I wonder how useful they will be though, considering the study design changed...
-
The study design hasn't changed has it?, the textbook has to my knowledge for our class. On the VCAA website it says:
Accreditation period - Units 1-4: 2004-2009. However at the bottom of the page ot says:
Economics is being reviewed for reaccreditation during 2008. ??
-
hmm i think my teacher said it changed :S our textbook changed as well. not like we were using the yr 11 one this year. which textbook u using? mine is 'economics down under'...
-
Yeah. Notice DURING 2008 ;)
Another thing:
"Accreditation period - Units 1-4: 2004-2009
The accreditation period has been extended until 31 December 2009."
-
Sheepz, the textbook we will be using is Richard Morris', but I think it is an updated edition as our teacher told us to make sure we don't buy a 2nd hand yr 12 book.
-
I'm confused with Applexy's post. Does that mean the study design is not changing then? o.0 Oh andy we're using that one too =)
-
People doing Unit 3/4 Economics this year do not need to worry about the new study design. That's for people who are doing Unit 3/4 next year (starts 2010).
-
There is a new textbook next year. My teacher said its so much more colourful, and better worded than our Morris Textbook
Not fair I wanna colorful textbook :'(

The study design has changed and a new one implemented for 2010-2014. To see the differences go to this link and download the word doc that states "Summary of Changes"

I think VCAA has just taken the objective of efficiency or whatever its called out of the study design.
I've had a look at different editions of Morris' books and the changes are very small (most changes, if not all, are just updated statistics)
You can probably still use notes that are posted on VCEnotes (you can find them in notes sections of VCEnotes)

^^^it's weird they are taking it out, since it was introduced only in the current study design, if that makes sense
Although IMO it's the worst Government Objective, because lack of data, and I don't know, it's not as CLEAR as economic growth, price stability or full employment. Can't explain =S
