i felt it was harder than last years in some places but also easier...
74/90 was the cutoff last year
im thinking it will be around 72/90 based on how everyone apparantly felt about the multi

Probably higher... SA was quite accessible... MC were also straightforward besides a couple odd ones.

I'm thinking it will be a quite high cut off. There was no 8 mark question to differentiate students, there were only really two multis that were tricky, the vast majority of the questions were 2-4 marks (even the six mark questions were just two three mark questions) so the cut off should be quite high...
I would predict 77 or 78.

This exam was so easy. It will go up by heaps for sure.

I think it was much easier, as long as you read the newspaper and kept up to date with the news you would of done pretty well. Unlike previous years, where you had to use a lot of statistics. I heard from somewhere that perhaps the examiners are trying to make economics easier so more people will do the subject, because a lot of people are choosing BM over economics.
I predict it'd probably go up to 76 or 78.

Everyone says 'it was so easy', but keep in mind that the only people posting here are all really good students.
I do, however, agree that it was easier than last year. I'm thinking that the cutoff will sit around 75-78. I just pray that I managed that. Imagine applying for Commerce at Melb without a 40+ in Economics :-[

Lol, eco isn't a prereq... and a lot of people do commerce without economics

I think she means that you'd sort of be expected to have done decently in the subject that you wish to pursue in further studies. While its not really a pre-req, you'd wonder what a person who got 25 for eco would be doing, doing a major in eco in uni. Given that they'd done eco of course.

Yes, I know, but like kaz said, it is offputting to fail in the subject that you want to build a career around.

True, like 3-5 kids picked eco at my school whilst around 50 choose BM
