so guys how was it??
I thought listening and responding in English was fairly easy.
Responding in Jap, I think i lost a few marks there, I only got 2 advantages of the car.
The way they worded the reading and responding (That 4x2 table) in English for the second text was confusing as :/
I chose the first writing task, Japanese people's influences on Melbourne.
Good job guys, VCE Japanese finished!!
-
The first english reading comprehension was literally the easiest reading comprehension ive ever done
I thought the whole exam was fairly good, not as hard as I expected
-
Yeah haha, in between the listening tasks a I quickly finished that
What were the three advantages of the car? i only got 2
-
The english listening was so easy!! thank god! the japanese one got a bit iffy though...essay was doable! i did the persuading principal to make me her assistant! lol :D it's hard to gauge how i went...dunno what mistakes i made..(and there probs was lots of them! :P)
-
Reading and Responding was pretty do able :) I think I spent too much time on it though cause I didn't have enough time to finish my essay (I chose the one about the country side and the city)
For listening, it was annoying because the supervisor didn't have the CD player loud enough D:
But yeah the listenings were at a good pace, but I couldn't get the features of the bloody 'raku raku hon' something about one touch hahah
All in all it was an alright exam :)
-
I think it was 3 big, one touch buttons for dialing important numbers
Did you get the three advantages of the car?
-
listening part 3 & 4 screwed me over, but the rest was alright.
-
For the advantages of the car I got:
can carry heavy suitcases
Since the destination is far from the train station going by car is convenient
If 3 people are going it is cheaper to go by car
For the raku raku hon:
The voice of the phone is loud and can be heard clearly and easily
There are 3 speed dial buttons you can set important numbers on
Can send emails through calls
The charaters are big (字も大きい) <---didn't get this one down though. was hearing ジムは大きい =='
Overall I think it was a reasonable exam with good content. This would also mean that the expectations of answers will be higher.
Regarding the essay. I also did the principal application one.
-
I'm pretty sure one of the phone ones was
voice recognition, so you can speak and it will the record down the words for you
With three advantages I got
Can carry heavy suitcases
Cheaper than train
Faster on normal days ?? lol

I don't think it said anything about voice recognition...I thought it was more like the grandfather calls someone (operators) and then they send it for him.
the Jap board is soo empty...
-
I dont care anymore! just want a study score greater than 30 lol Just happy its over with!!!!!
p.s. you guys are crazy! i couldnt even understand some of that shit :( And i had trouble with reading - responding in japanese..... essay was bleh...
-
I am so relieved that this is all over. Can't wait to dig in to those Japanese dramas again!
..and start playing MW3!
-
I thought it was pretty reasonable. Bit concerned that it was slightly easier than past few years, because those little mistakes might make a big difference.
I actually thought the hardest part was the cheesecake & Golden Week listenings. The rest I was good with :)
-
I didn't get to finish it! :(

Yeh they were the three advantages for the car..
I think the four points were those but I heard けいたいに話せると、then something about writing being okay. I wrote a vague fact about speaking to the phone and it sending messages. That was the one part of the exam I was unsure about, although I dislike the listening and responding in Jap section. Im never sure if I am phrasing it right!
Anyway, last exam! anyone else?
-
Yep my last one :D You guys will smash jap, makes me feel so crap lol and gives me a sense that my study score has dropped heaps....
-
I'm in year 11 so I only had Chem and Jap, so year 11 exams next week :P
-
everything was fairly easy, may have lost marks on jap listening/responding (depends how anal they want to be so ill give some leeway)
did the article on the advantages/disadvantages on living in the australian countryside/city

did the article on the advantages/disadvantages on living in the australian countryside/city
Same :)
I cant believe you guys are saying it was easy...... lol
-
^ dont worry swarlol, a few people in my class said it was challenging (obviously my opinion is biased....)

for rakurakuhon
I heard something like "字も大きいから、読みやすい"
and if you talk to the phone, it can write in japanese for you "けいたい電話に話せると、書いてくれるでしょう” (mentioned about 日本語で書くこと in the sentence before)
PS. cutoff predictions compared to 2010? ... I think it was harder than 2010 but not as hard as 2009?
*edit*
uh oh, I just realized that I spelt 新幹線(しんかんせん) as 新幹緑 throughout the whole paper.... in the Golden Week and train-advantages listening... would I get consequential marks from that? :(
-
and if you talk to the phone, it can write in japanese for you "けいたい電話に話せると、書いてくれるでしょう”
yeah that's what i heard!!
And I wrote "densha' instead of 'shinkansen'.... i wonder how critical they will be..
I felt it was harder than 2010 and I'm not sure if we get consequential marks in LOTE?
-
wait, maybe I wrote it twice in the Golden-week listening or something :S I remember writing it twice for something
*feels bad* my kanji-writing backfired on me hahaha.... しにたいなあ!
-
I think i did alright on the listening and reading components. Responding in japanese was a bit hard though imo, esp the golden week one. I think i lost a few marks on that one. And as for writing, i didn't finish. I chose to write the article but i only managed to fit in around 200ji. So disappointed... :'(
Does anyone know what happens if you don't write within 400-500ji? Is that an automatic 0 for your essay?
-
I wouldn't think so... I would presume that they would just mark you on the 200ji
-
Definitely not a zero, so don't panic about that. Given, you'll get hit hard for structure, you can still score respectable scores in other criteria if you managed to demonstrate some clever sentences and a good introduction.

Oh well...that listening task was probably the hardest out of all of them. I hope I can get some marks at least for my answers.
しにたいなあ!
Its always those silly mistakes that give you the most frustration.
-
Listening and Responding in English was easier than I expected (thank god!)
In Japanese...not so much haha
The first reading task...was the easiest I've ever done...almost entirely in katakana!
Think I died in the writing section though. Never been my strong point :(
