..apart from me.
-
Not me, 6 days and 45mins to go xD
Good luck for tomorrow guys ^_^
You're lucky, you get to get the hardest one out of the way first.
-
very fucking nervous would be an understatement on my behalf.
-
When I get nervous, I feel sick, can't eat, and get these surges to vomit :? is this normal :(
-
hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll yes
mel you're lucky :(
-
Hrm, I reckon it's better than doing it tomorrow and getting it off my back than after 6.5 days ^^
-
Well I was nervous before, but I'm not anymore... I guess I realised that there is no need to be. Just do your best, that's all you can do, you just need to believe in yourself, tell yourself "YES I CAN" and really believe it. If you must don't even think about the exam, think about something that helps you calm down, whatever that may be.
Good luck guys and girls, I'm sure you'll all do well
=]

well if it isn't normal ... then i'm abnormal too :(
-
I tend to shake when I'm nervous xD
Pretend to be all calm on the outside, I feel nothing is wrong on the inside (no being sick), I have mainly positive thoughts on the inside to assist with the pretending to be all calm and happy and cheerful, but if you look closely I'm shaking :)
I think that's the way I deal with everything though.
Oh, and you guys are lucky yours is in the morning, not freaking 3-5:15pm =( So I have the whole day to worry about it.
-

Yes it's normal for that to happen before an exam, my friend had a panic attack a few weeks ago (i guess it hit her really hard)
Seriously just try to relax, I know it's an important exam, but you want to be in good health and a good state of mind to actually be able to perform well on the exam.
-
I'd rather have it around that time. I hate getting up in the morning :(
-
Oh trust me, it's not lucky. I don't wake up til about 12pm :(

I can't see that happening to be honest. Probably not have a proper breakfast. If my friend doesn't make sure to bring me some red bull I'm screwed, and I'll kill him.

Listen guys and girls, whether its at 9am or 12pm or whenever, you still have to the exam, you need to pull yourselves together, and just do the exam. Stop worrying, worrying wont get you a good mark on the exam.. just stay calm, and put your thinking caps on (ahh good old days;prep)
and write,write,write.
-
I'm a morning person but ;-;

^ that made me think of wearing a hat to one of the exams, claim it was a thinking cap and see how long I can last before they ask me to remove it, for some reason.
I'm not a person to actually do that though :(

Some sort of worry is good, but I hate it when it escalates beyond control. It may sound strange, but when I worry my mind prepares itself for what is to come.
-
dont try to randomly cram now cos it wont have much effect (no matter how much you think it will enlighten you)
play some computer games lol

Lol, yeah a little worry is good, but not too much... too much of anything isn't good :)
-
I think the best thing to do at this stage is to just go over your novels ... to refresh your knowledge of the themes, characters, quotes etc.
Or .... computer games are also good. :?

I used to be a CS freak, years back. Now all I play is chess, and rather sparingly since year 12.. it might just do the trick though 8)

You don't have to be, but a little bit would help you :) But don't worry about not being nervous, just because everyone else is, doesn't mean you have to.
-
Yeah it does, emotional appeal to group loyalty..
-
im nervous :( i mean i think i can pull out a few essays if i have to, even though they're unlikely to be great, but im mostly just scared that i wont finish! because i really really struggle to do things in short amounts of time, yet being lazy, i havnt done a proper timed exam yet or even really a timed essay :( im so shocking
-
don't worry, more likely than not, in the actual exam, your adrenaline will do the work for you :) I always seem to end up writing more in exams
-

Yeh, you will. If you complete the WR task first, you've done the part that requires the most thinking. You're in full concentration mode, and should power through the TR's.
This is the largest Mental marathon you're ever likely to undertake, being nervous is natrual really.
-
do you do section 2 first BA22?
I tried doing that once ... but i always end up wasting time rambling in my lang analysis and then run outta time for TRs :(
-
im gona go part 2 essay, writing task, part 1 essay.. start with what i like haha, leave what is likely to be my weakest thing until last, just in case i don't have time to do it at the same standard as the others.
and im spliting up the text responses because i cant do them two in a row, and i especially couldnt do them in the last 2 hours.. ideally, it'd be nice to do the writing task first considering i could go over it in reading time and such, but unfortunately i will go way overtime with it as i always do, and ill also get incredibly drained doing the 2 text responses after.
-
do whatever you have been doing,
if you havent sat a propper 3 hour exam and worked out what works best for you, its your own fault and its too late to do anything about it. if you have then do whatver enables you to finish well.
-
eeek it's tomorrow I'm not ready! damn you fsn.
I have wasted these last 4 days :(
-
Oh yeah, blame FSN. >_>
-
Oh yeah, blame FSN. >_>
ok so maybe my laziness and complete lack of motivation plays a TINY role. but mainly it's fsn

I have a concise style of writing, which makes language analysis relatively easier for me, so i always do this section first. As i've said before, if you do it first, the stimulus material is fresh in your minds, and you can confidenly begin planning it. If you can complete the analysis and point of view in an hour, yu then have two full hours to write your text responses and the pressure is seriously reduced.

at least you have a task that you like.....
i equally hate them all!
-
I'm going to do
1. Part One Essay
2. Language Analysis
3. Part Two Essay
4. Point of View
But I still think I will run out of time...
-
any tips on how not to run out of shit to say in part 1 essays? :| im really regretting my choice of texts, i cant write a part 1 on look both ways
-
I think of it like this:
EACH TR is worth 1/3 of your mark.
The Analysis and POV combined is worth 1/3.
If I get the 2 TR's done and then if I run out of time during the Analysis/POV, iv at least got 2/3 of my marks down.
-
When I get nervous, I feel sick, can't eat, and get these surges to vomit :? is this normal :(
I have that right now!! I feel like i wanna throw up and my head feels really light.
-
I'm glad I'm not alone. :P
-
doesn't matter what order you attempt them...
you can even do the persuasive before the analysis, if you have ideas already.
but!
remember to read the articles before doing the language analysis!
thats important
-
Lol how are you supposed to do the analysis without reading the articles
-

Who wouldn't ? lol
How will you know what to analyse if you don't read the articles lol ?
-
ugh, i regret eating dinner, now i feel really sick :(
what dyou mean read the articles? :?
my advice tho would be: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
in my practice exam there was a speech and then a response to the speech. instructions said "analyse the response to the speech". apparently like, 1/3 of ppl analysed the speech itself. do that in the exam and you wont get ANY marks lol

fresh as in not expired

my breakfast will be:
2 eggs, few peices of bacon in a toasted cheese sandwich with some nice apple and gauva juice on the side :D then an up and go in the car
when i get to school ill have a banana right before it and take a mizone in.
ofcourse i wont be making any of the above my parents will :P
during our practise exam i got so hungry and couldnt concentrate.. definatly not making the same mistake again.
-
if i ate that much before the exam, i would mostly likely spend the 3 hours throwing up haha :!:
ill be having some fruit salad and yoghurt, and a coffee. sending the mother out to get it for me too, of course. exams are the best excuse

i was planning on getting up early and go for a drive and get breakfast on the way, but now probly not gonna do that
-
im driving. I'm more worried about my alarm not going off or something. Every year at my school people miss the exams.. like they get the days mixed up and stuff, or the teachers ring em and they go in late. Imagine going in late to the eng exam..
-
i aaaalways sleep through my alarm, especially when im out of routine getting up early ie now. ill probably get an early morning call too.
-
Sub two hours, weeeee. 8)
-
lol.
-
last night was awful, couldn't sleep
and now im having diarrhoea
shit!

Indeed shit
Don't panic. I'm so relaxed, I can't wait to get this thing done with. Sleep was ok. Went to bed at half past ten, actually slept more like 12. Not to matter. I woke up at about 6.20, I was just tossing and turning, thinking about boolean algebra garrr.
-

head so dizzy
im gonna go drink my V and have my brunch
