Title: advice on daily study routines?
Post by: Blah43 on November 19, 2011, 11:49:40 pm
i study like crazy, everyday non stop, (absolutely no social life) but i get the worst scores. methods especially. (i do chem, bio, lit, methods, further)
On the other hand my friend finishes his work on the bus before school (spends the rest of his time playing computer games), and on his report he gets straight A's.
i have no idea what i'm doing wrong, people tell me im probably not managing my time correctly. Any daily routine studying you guys have? how to correctly study? any tips, especially before exams? (please don't say drop methods, need it as a prereq)

How exactly do you study for methods? Like, do you do questions from your textbook?

my guess is your probably just 'doing' the questions like a procedure rather than fully understanding the 'why'. Try watching some youtube videos and concentrate until you fully grasp the concept and know why your doing the steps that your doing. methods isnt like other subjects where you can just get away with just following procedures

Then when you're in a test, do you feel that the questions on the test are just vastly different than the textbook? Or is it more like you're blanking out? For the former, like the above said, you should probably try better to understand what is really going on.

The key here is to work smart, not hard. Could you outline your study habits/routine so we could get a better idea of what the problem is?
