Any Trance lovers, tune in to TATW400 on Sunday (broadcast from 7AM to 3PM) http://tatw400.com/info [the countdown is bugged, ah well.]
Lineup: Jaytech Kyau & Albert Above & Beyond Gareth Emery Mat Zo
Will definitely try and tune in, ASOT 550 is coming up too, great line up: Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Aly & Fila, Arty, W&W and Ørjan Nilsen, Cosmic Gate, Super 8 & Tab, Stoneface & Terminal, Tritonal and of course Armin Van Buuren But but not sure if we can tune in yet..
Who's going to stereosonic? No way a trance addict like myself could miss such an unbelievable line up !!!
If only I was 18... friend told me it's the best line-up in 10 years

HELL YES. Must see artists that aren't on your list (not necessarily trance, borderline prog. house/prog. trance):
Have been to A&B. That was insane. Saw Mat Zo and A&B, they are gods. Went to creamfields. Deadmau5 is also god. Went to ASOT500. TyDi, Aly & Fila, Shogun, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Menno De Jong, Armin. All of them are gods. I live amongst gods. <3

That's just the Den Bosch lineup though. International locations/dates/lineups will be announced on 1/Dec. If they come to Australia or reasonably close to Australia, I'm there.
Needless to say, I have them all on a hard drive. ~170Gb worth. =P

Oh my fucking god Stereo was so good. Some highlights:
Giuseppe Ottaviani (trance) Sied van Riel (trance) David Guetta Dirty South (house, Australian producer) Alesso (house, collaborated with Ingrosso on this track)
Labels:
Above & Beyond will be bringing a healthy mix of Anjunabeats. Tritonal will be brining in tunes under the Enhanced/Enhanced Progressive tree. MaRLo and Sied van Riel are associated with Spinnin' Records/Liquid. Giuseppe Ottaviani and W&W are associated with Armada.
Pretty damn good representation of the best in trance imo.

That's a pretty sweet line-up!
Also, for Alesso this was a pretty big song that he had involvement in.
I've also enjoyed a few of the mixes and songs (or maybe it was just the vid ;)) by Bombs Away, who is mainly electro based, with the occasional dubstep representation.
How much do you reckon creamfields tix will cost?
edit: found it, $100, that's not bad, not bad at all :D

Hmm, when holidays clock around I might make a thread for all the non-trance-or-dubstep electronic music genres. They're so undiscovered, and yet so good. I want to share the magic with you guys :)
Give me some time and remind me, and I'll find links to an amazing tracklist.

I listen to some dubstep, not really into the super heavy generic type, I like the melodic/liquid sub-genre of dubstep :) And also DnB and some psy-trance and I used to listen to hardstyle :P

Not into trance that much. But I'm into this group called Infected Mushroom and their genre is psychdelic trance so I figured it would be appropriate to post here..
(and I just found out majik has delivered all of the trance acts I've been to (except for A&B and AvB), which, is quite fucking phenomenal. So props to them.)

I'm tempted to post the most bustin' glitch tracks out there to enlighten you guys, but I know that nobody will appreciate it.
Check this out. It's good, but it's not as crazy as many people would think. Don't judge the song until you listen between 1:20 and especially from 1:35 to 2:08. LISTEN TO THE PADS MAN - THE PADS!
So is anyone going to Stereosonic this year? Infected Mushroom should be crazy :D
The line-up.... soo good!! But can't make it as it's the day I get back from schoolies :(

additionally.. it's like 90 bucks and at a tennis court (my friend says its still sick but i dont like the idea of the venue)
if you're into clubbing, @ room 680 they had leon bollier, rank 1, jochen miller come down
just waiting for asot 650 which will be in australia.
I reckon 90 is a good price for a name like A&B, considering what they're charging for SHM LOL It doesn't stay as an actual tennis court, Hisense actually looks pretty sick for gigs like this This is what it looked like when GK still came to Melbourne (RIP)

And maybe its easier to keep ASOT/ABGT in this thread, but feel free to start indivdual ones :P I'm not sure how many listen though, I personally haven't even listened to one ABGT...
I like ASOT, but I find the release schedule for ASOT tracks can be pretty miserable. I've had cases where Armin plays a track in future favourites, and the track isn't released for another whole year. I'm not patient enough to put up with that, so I refuse to listen to ASOT episodes that are less than 6 months old. :P

Omggggg best night of my life, seriously, greatest venue ever. I ended up walking home from the city to East Malvern and got home at 8 HAHA (we thought it was a good idea at the time :( ) Everything was pretty dry, but when A&B came on, omg, everything just kicked off. Norin & Rad were an awesome ending act too I would die happily after last night, what did you guys think?

how the fuck did you walk home LOL, my feet were beyond dead. crowd was great too, everyone was so nice.
A&B took my concert virginity. Was a very special time

Are there heaps of drugs floating around in these events? I'm basing that off Defqon 1 because apparently there is a crap load of drugs in those events.
Alcohol I can live with but I seriously don't want to be around too many druggos.
I'm hoping not because I'm next time they come down under!

Haha there were quite a few busts last night but there were loads of drugs around. I was talking to one guy who said he brought 200 pills he got for $7 ea (probably talking shit but yknow).
Could smell a lot of bud near the front during the first couple of acts and pretty much anybody who had lollipops, gum and / or sunnies were on something. You wouldn't really notice them anyway, they partied just as much as everyone else did, nothing too extreme from what I saw anyway

oh you reckon? man surely not, they wouldn't ruin such a good build up would they?
When the DJs genuinely stuff up (eg. when Ferry Corsten pressed the wrong button and restarted a song), they generally do an apology of sorts. A&B could easily communicate to the crowd via their teletype. If it was an actual screw-up, I think they would have put up a tongue-in-cheek apology. I think they just wanted to freak that chick out, should've seen her face when she noticed, haha.

Garage rave isn't really my scene, haha. Stadiums is where its at.
Arty & Mat Zo will be ridiculous. I've only seen them live when they were supporting (~1hr sets), and even then they killed it. Their headline event will be crazy.
I'm also holding out for another ASOT event to come to australia. A&B did pretty well with Hisense arena, but it still felt like a rookie performance compared to Armin's monstrous ASOT 500.

There was a merchandise store on the other side of the arena! Everything was pretty expensive though, a singlet was like $35, but the headbands were $10.
SUN & MOON WAS AMAZING!! I actually cried after it (no shame) They were hugging each other and shit on stage, it felt like it was their last show or something HAHA they play such beautiful stuff, seriously, they deserve a genre of their own. I cried during Eternal as well, their last song omggg
I think Defqon 1's still coming in Sept, Iqon's just another hardstyle festival I think, don't quote me on that though. It'd be a shame if they cancelled Defqon because of Iqon :(

No way would Defqon ever be cancelled because of iQon. iQon is only a, new concept, one stage night festival. Defqon is a multi-stage all day festival with camping/pre-parties/afterparties etc. which attracts attendees from all around the world, just for that one event.
Doesn't make business sense for Defqon to be cancelled considering it's been so successful as well.

Definitely. Out of bad habit i distinguish everything under 'trance' and cannot tell anything apart. I'm trying to break it by just saying EDM
Every artist worth their weight in salt has a distinct sound. I'm almost tempted to say each artist has their own 'subgenre'. This is not like any other genre, where different bands compare their skills on the same instrument, and you can somewhat group them together. Every producer literally runs an entirely unique ensemble on their laptops. It's chaotic and glorious =')

While also not strictly trance, I've been listening to Andrew Bayer recently. His new album "If it were you we'd never leave" is pretty sweet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41mnpn3kH5g
Such a brilliant album. Bayer is god. I really hope he does a world tour off the back of this album. I would really like to see a proper headline set from him.
This isn't strictly trance but thought I'd share it because it's one of the best progressive house tracks I've heard in a while :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ShmK_hslz8
This has to be one of my favourite deep house tracks.
So much love for deep house here. Time for a new thread methinks?
