Hey
Needed some advice about UMEP.../ MUEP
I did biology last year and i think ill go good..., I've talked to my biol teacher and he says that uni enhancement isnt a bad idea for me.
Im doing chemistry, methods, spec, english language next year, and i've done biology and further..
As i'm only doing 4 next year, and a total of 6, Do you think uni biology would be a good idea? (workload wise and scoring wise?)
as i live in ballarat i can get to the uni so thats all good, but yeah, need advice on whether its a good idea or not :)

If you think it isn't too much to handle then it is definitely a good idea! You can get a head start in your degree and transfer credit too. And in my opinion, it's much easier to get a higher increment in a uni subject than a vce subject (although it seems they are decreasing the maximum increment next year).

if you do it, does it mean that you dont have to do the first few semesters of Med?!

I'm not sure but I don't think you can credit a uni subject into undergrad MED, I was referring to like a science degree. Also, keep in mind that a uni subject only covers max 2 subjects, where you need 8 subjects in a year at uni (generally speaking). So there is no way you would skip 'a few semesters' of any degree.

It's definitely a good idea, both in terms of workload and scoring. The way the credit works is that it's equivalent to 1 semester of a single bio subject at uni, so you could accelerate one subject of your course by 1 semester.
EDIT: UMEP applications closed on Friday, but MUEP is still open! Go apply. Even if you decide later that you don't want to do it, you can enrol, try it out and drop it before you have to pay the fees - I think there's a two-week (maybe more?) window for this. You'd have to check with the uni. Bear in mind, MUEP is kind of expensive.

1 subject? Both uni jap I did, and the uni chem my friend did were 2 semesters (though I realise UMEP maths is worth like..20 points which is 5 points short of 2 subjects)

^ think it varies from 1 - 2 semesters worth, depending on the uni and subject.

It's because UMEP mathematics is it's own subject which is not quite worth 2 full subjects (and the cohort is purely year 12 students). Most other UMEP subjects actually involve two regular uni subjects - one per semester.

Yeah... I don't know why they don't just teach calc2+lin alg... (in uni maths i mean).
