Yes it does, CAS is a different course. Although a lot of it is the same, CAS has a little linear algebra and of course, you're supposed to use a CAS calculator for certain questions in the course.

they are pretty much the same. have you read what dc posted? i thought he was pretty clear, CAS utilises CAS, so CAS books will have CAS instructions and NON - CAS has slightly less material.
Anyway i thought both courses were combined...
Yeah I thought there was only one methods course which is the CAS active one?? They joined in like 06?

They didn't join. CAS emerged and then eventually non-CAS was discontinued. In my year, some schools taught CAS, some taught non-CAS. MHS taught non-CAS.

Alright kinda get it but can CAS do graphing as well co non CAS can do graphing.

The CAS is more advanced, and so you could say it's better. The casio classpad you mentioned is a CAS calculator.

i got the cx, its the same as the old cas but jus with colour and is slimmer. But i like it better, the colour screen makes things clearer in my opinion and when graphing each graph pops u in a differnet colour which can be useful for someone like me who is coluor blind lol.

what's your booklist (school) i'll say i go to your school ;)

Sorry to hijack this thread but what happens if you say you're from a different school? Why do they even care what school you're from? What if you're just a random stranger off the streets who decided to buy a VCE textbook just out interest?

What?! Srs?!I got my TInspire CAS(black) for $195. Then what's the original price for the TInspire CX CAS?
Why don't you get the non CAS CX?what's the difference between these two(CAS and non CAS)?
Is it one of them more cheaper?
Well what school are you from? Erm, my booklist says classpad330 which is a bit awkward..but I still prefer buying CX CAS.
Btw can you sell it to me after your VCE?
