Hey there everyone!
I'm going to be sitting the UMAT examination in 2012 and I just wanted to ask those of you who did well how you suggest I prepare for the examination. I'm pushing for Medicine at Monash and am aiming for 95th+ percentile. I went to Kunal Luthra's lecture before the UMAT this year to gain some sort of an insight and judging by my performance in the questions we went through there and the few practice questions I've done online, I'm confident in my abilities for Sections 1 & 2 but Section 3 completely stumps me every single time. I rarely get questions wrong in the first two sections but rarely get them right in section 3.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to invest in a package from MedEntry. Is this a good choice or is there perhaps another, better preparation company?
Many thanks for your answers in advance :)

Same, I want to know how to prepare for this :P
Is medentry any good?

If section 3's what you're mainly after, MedEntry will do you good. However, it is very costly. Taking cost out of the equation though, MedEntry is probably the best option. However, taking cost into account, you won't get much worse materials if you pay significantly less and rely on other companies, or even rely on IQ test books and such which have almost identical styles of questions.

I found MedEntry helpful to say the least, it won't make or break your UMAT, but it will bump you up, but you have to put in the hard work though, lots of it :)

Thanks so much for your quick responses guys! :)
I'm really hoping that I'll be alright for sections 1 & 2 and hopefully I can maximise my score for section 3 as much as possible. Money isn't too much of a worry for my parents and they really support me in my aspirations to study medicine so I think I'll go with MedEntry.
Thanks once again :)

How many hours per week did you put into UMAT? is it worth studying as much as 3/4 subjects to score high?
-
I put more time into UMAT than all of my subjects combined in the month leading up to the UMAT
whether it's worth it or not depends on whether you badly want to do medicine

I did no UMAT practise the entire year until about a month before the exam, where I put off all my other subjects and spent the entire month studying for the test
If you do it early on, I find that you may oftne forget the tips and tricks that you find that personally work for you, so don't spend too much time throughout the year on it,
Medentry is helpful, if you use it to specifically improve and discover a "pattern" or "system" that works for you for solving different types of questions.
