Title: What kind of marks do I need to get in SACS/Exams to get these scores in 2012?
Post by: elle2442 on December 05, 2011, 02:50:13 pm
I'm aiming for a 37 in everything basically:
English
Literature
Health & HD
Legal Studies

I also do a School Based Apprenticeship in Childcare as apart of my VCE but I've never really understood how that contributes as a subject..

I believe a raw 37 usually corresponds to straight A's (possibly mid-high?) across all 3 assessment criteria's i.e Unit 3 SAC, Unit 4 SAC, Exam

Use the grade distributions to work out what marks generally will achieve straight A's.

For SACs the strength of your cohort and your given rank will also impact your mark not just your scores.

Alternatively, you can use Mao's GA SCORE ESTIMATOR / STUDY SCORE ESTIMATOR to work out what will achieve study scores of 37.

As for the apprenticeship, I'm not sure as I didn't do anything related to that, but I would assume it would add a certain increment to your aggregate as the university enhancement courses do

To put in perspective a raw study score of 38 means you are in the top 15% of students for that subject.

Considering in many subjects you'll have ~50% who don't exactly care and ~10-20% who do but just don't have the natural intelligence no matter how hard they work, if you put the effort in a raw 38 is very achievable.

As for your concerns it may be low A's (not sure if that'll make you feel any better, but I'm pretty sure it is A's nonetheless, if not highest of B+)

Thank you. I'm currently farting rainbows :D
That's... charming, to say the least.

No problem, work hard and you'll achieve your goals!
