I'm wondering if I should do MUEP Chemistry and would appreciate any advice.
This year I've studied U1/2 Chem, English Language, Methods, GMA, German and Systems Engineering as well as U3/4 Chinese SL.
I've got an A+ average in all my subjects but German.
Next year I'm looking at doing U3/4 Chem, English Language, Methods, Specialist and German.
I've already been enrolled into my VSL distance education course for German.
Now, I was notified a few days ago that I received the Monash University award and am apparently allowed to, through this take an MUEP study. Out of the subjects, I'm only eligible for Maths and Chem, and seeing as though I'm doing two maths already, I thought it might be overkill to do that subject.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I think it's a great idea if you like chem. Not only will you be able to credit this towards a general uni degree (by general I mean like, science, or you can possibly credit it as elective/breadth in other degrees). It won't help significantly with 3/4 chem, but it will probably make you more comfortable and confident to say the least. I also think uni subjects are an easy way to get easy increments as your 5th/6th subject.

Go ahead and do it, I have friends who did MUEP Chem this year and loved it. Uni Enhancement subjects are a great opportunity, if you enjoy studying Chem, then you'd love the course.

i did muep chem,
boringest shit ever.
I wouldn't advise doing it this year because of the changed scoring system. It is really not worth it..

I've got too many subjects for the increment to be useful if I score well in all the other subjects... Would it be worth using the time on a Uni subject? I do love Chem.
Anyone can enlighten me on exactly how the increment works?
Thanks!

yeah, from next year
if you get a score of >90/100 then it is a 5.0
>80 a 4.5
> 70 a 4
To put in context the difficulty. To get an 80 is not very hard. I crammed like three days before and got one.
But to get a 90 is completely different.
Tushan, who is fucking good at chemistry and who represented australia in chemistry got 89 in second semester.
I personally don't think doing an enhancemet study is worth it anymore.

I am in almost the exact same position.
Having done only one 3/4 (Chinese SL) last year, I have put down English, Spesh, Chem, Methods and Physics 3/4. I'm also, at this stage, going to do MUEP.
My dilemma is this: I want to do Uni Chem, yet it will probably not be in my six subjects that count towards my ATAR. Is it worth pursuing, treating it only as a supplement and not as a real subject, focussing mainly on my other five 3/4s that will probably be the ones that actually count?
