Title: Distance Education Economics
Post by: sunintherain on December 12, 2011, 10:41:17 am
My school isn't running Economics next year, so i decided to do it by distance education and I was wondering what you guys thought about that, if you would recommend it. The Economics teacher at school said she would help me whenever I needed it and my father is an Economist and he has promised as much help as he can give. Do you still think that it's possible to do well in Economics.. I'm quite worried about it...

If you're committed enough and you enjoy economics, there's no reason why you can't do well in it. I completed economics this year via distance ed and it's relatively easy to keep on top of things, just make sure you don't neglect it because there is a large amount of content in the course and you should leave plenty of time to study for sacs/exam.

Good luck!

Haha of course it isn't stupid, it just means you're committed. Treat it like a normal class and with all the help you have available you can achieve any score you want.

Yeah, economics is a subject that you can generally do without teachers aid anyway. Just read the textbook, understand the real life applications (and have examples) and you'll be more than fine.

Also, your dad is a friggen Economist...

Basically what everyone above me has said includes what I wanted to say, also just let me add that doing a subject via DE is a great way to improve self-studying skills as well - very important in your future academic career ;)

good luck, i'm sure you'll do fine!
