Title: incorrectly putting sac marks- changeable??
Post by: soccerboi on December 16, 2011, 12:08:52 pm
What happens if i find out that the teacher has incorrectly put in my sac marks? For accounting he put A but i got A+'s in my sacs, so is there any point in telling him, are they able to change this???

It's most likely due to moderation that your A+ SACs have now become A's. It's probably not an error unless you're at a top performing school.

From the other thread. By moderation I mean that your cohort wasn't that strong, so an A+ turns into an A eventually.

But was your friend ranked higher than you in terms of SACs?

It's probably going to be a tough process if you try. It doesn't make much sense to me if your friend was ranked lower than you, but weird stuff happens with moderation all the time. Won't know until you try I guess.

Sorry for bombarding your thread but what is the biggest moderation that you have ever heard of. Because in one of my classes I got an A+ SAC average before moderation got a C on the exam (didn't use my time efficiently) and ended up with a C+ SAC score... We get marked pretty easy but I had no idea that you could get marked down so much?

It means your cohort performed badly in the Exam.

I believe that, say, you are ranked 5 you will get the 5th highest Exam mark for your SAC mark. Therefore, if this Exam mark is low, your SAC mark will be low.

say if the 1st person in the cohort only dropped 1 mark the whole year and the 2nd guy only dropped 2, would the second guy be able to get a higher study score if he performed better than the 1st guy in exams?

yes, definitely. just because person 1 is ranked one in sacs doesnt mean they will get the highest score. especially for subjects where sacs are only worth 33%

sacs were 66% in my subject but does it in anyway restrict my exam scores?
i was just really disappointed in my exam mark after having straight A+'s and a very confident exam it just didn't add up to me

Exams are marked completely independently of your SAC scores.
