Heh, I went to BHS before MHS as well. You'll probably need to wait for the newspapers to put out the official statistics on percentage of students above 40 and such. There's not much use of asking around at the moment I think.

I went to CGS this year. The school hasn't released anything official yet. But from what I know thus far, we had: 3 99.95s, 5 99.90s and about 40 or so (I may be wrong) students achieve 99 or better. I'm not entirely sure if all of them are offering tutoring at the moment, but I can pass on their names to you in PM.

b@lwyn, $200 k more, that's ridiculous... for that money you could go to a private school for 10 years

But you essentially retain that $200k. A house is an investment so you get that $200k back, quite likely more actually, when you sell it later on. On the other hand, the money you use on a private school is actually spent. Can't really compare like that...

yeah your right, though what if BHS closed down or they rechanged the zoning XD it's a large risk for no gain (purely $$$ wise, e.g. wouldn't want to invest there)

Post by: BoredSatan on December 17, 2011, 05:42:32 pm
Stupid The Age saying all the good stuff about BHS.. GWSC beat them on percentage over 90 and only just lost on number of 99's..

Lol, Balwyn High is a good school buddy.
But just the reputation is going lost since so many kid just move in to get the school.I assume it's more popular than GWSC
Yeah, but how many students in your school (yr12)?

If it's gonna close down there will be a notice before that happens
and house prices are increasing in this area(Balwyn,Kew,Camberwell)
so it is still worth investing into this area(if you have the money).

Post by: LOLs99 on December 17, 2011, 06:04:50 pm
well even if they give notice of it going to down / rezoning, no ones gonna be like, oh yeah i'll pay the $200 more than it otherwise should be, even though BHS is closing soon

It won't be closing down unless there's some disaster and this school has been working
for quite a long time so nothing about closing down or something but for now on,
it's still worth to to invest in it and sell it quick for the 200k

yeah of the four, two are full and two are half in year 7 entry. In year 9 entry, 2 are 80% and 2 are 40%

Not anymore actually, it's now 4 full and 3 half for year 7 entry (100%, 50%) and 3 full and 2-3 half for year 9/10 entry (100%, 50%).
