Starting year 12 english next year and I was wondering if it's better to have text response and context essays typed or handwritten? (I never type language analysis essays) I've gotten used to typing essays throughout year 10 and 11 and of course during a sac and exam hastily struggle to move my arm quickly to write all my ideas down. Is it better to change now?

write them, and if it doesnt take too long, type !
but i would say write :) you gotta get used to writing heaps in a short amount of time
i say type them up after as it enables you go to through stuff you've written before quite easily,.
i dunno about you, but my handwriting is horrendous and i'm always put off when i see one of my handwritten easy :)

hand written!
+1, couldn't anymore its best to hand write and you do want very well prepare yourself for the end of years english which is around 3 hours.

I typed most of my practise pieces, but only started handwriting closer to exam time :O
Having said that, if I could do english again, I would definitely hand-write more :)

Deciding whether to type or hand-write depends on the person. If you're short for time then type; if you've got horrendous hand-writing and think that it would be good practice to hand-write, then hand-write; if you feel that you might need to change your argument half-way because of a contradiction, then type; if you want to see how long paragraphs will to an examiner, then hand-write. In any case, typing your essays means that even if you misplace your work you can print off another copy. This keeps you more organised, one of the key qualities to success.

I always handwrote my essays, then scanned a copy to save on my laptop... if it got lost, i could always print it off again.
but i would say write :) you gotta get used to writing heaps in a short amount of time
This is very important... so handwriting all the way imo.

If you're hard pressed for time then type it. But definitely hand-write more as the year progresses.
You'll know how much you're capable of writing in the time frame and how long your pieces will generally be.

I typed all my essays leading up to the exam, but I did a few practice ones by hand to get used to it ;D - when typing though, give yourself about 80% of the time, because you'll realise typing is far quicker!

Handwrite everything. if it looks messy, then double space your lines, so it looks neater and easier for you and your teacher to read. Re-typing it is a waste of time, unless you need to submit it through email, or you need it marked from someone online. (Unless of course you are a fast typer and can type faster than you can think:))
