Title: [SPLIT] Economics Study Score Doubt
Post by: ANILBALA on January 05, 2012, 04:46:16 pm
Hey guys, i got 3 A+s for economics (Including SACS from MHS) and a 87.5/90 for the exam, and received a 44. I have heard friends who got 50s with similar results, i was just wondering whether there is a possibility of a VCAA error

Posts split from VCAA assesment reports discussion 2011

But yeah, I'm guessing that your SAC GA's would have been a lower A+ to those that got a higher study score.

Economics is a pretty small cohort, right? So, the difference between a 44 and a 50 would be much less than other subjects. If you were a couple of marks lower in SACs then these people that may be enough to account for the difference.

I got my statement of marks:

Unit 3 score :Finals score 91 (1.15 standardized score) weighted ss (0.28)
Unit 4 score: Finals score 94 (1.28 standardized score) weighted ss (0.32)
Final Exam: 175 (1.92 standardized score) weighted ss (0.96)
Weighted total : 1.57

I think my sacs caused the main problem since i had a really tight teacher, who would take marks off for even answers from the textbook

hmmm, 1.57, let's transform that

Z = (x-o)/m => x = mZ + o = 30 x 1.57 + 7 > 50? are you sure it's right? :S

What? How is that possible; you provided the right answer for a question.
