You guys pick a date then, I am very poor at organising such things :)
WHOA! Congrats Thushan!
Ahaha it's not much, every applicant gets an interview
Moderator action: removed real name, sorry for the inconvenience
-
Wait, your interview is in Aus right?
-
Princeton? Couldn't have gotten one for a good Ivy League institution?
;D
Having said that, my MIT one is very soon, and that's not even IL so I can't hang shit.
Good luck!
-
LOL I do have Harvard and Yale interviews too :P
-
Good, good. I take it you can afford to live there?
-
Well, IF (that's a BIG IF) i get a place, then I should get financial aid :D
Having said that, if the FinAid is not enough, then I'll turn down. But that's like a 0.0000001% chance of me getting in. No joke.

You'd be surprised, you're Aussie and got a 99.95. What was your SAT, assuming you did it?
And Financial Aid will be preeeeetty good. Although I'm good regardless.

I'm going to be applying to Ivy League colleges and am in Year 12 this year. I'll be sitting the SAT exam and the SAT Subject tests for World History and Mathematics Level 1. I'll be graduating from Haileybury College in 2012 and play in two sports first teams. Rugby and Water Polo. I'm heavily involved in extra-curricular activities at school. I'm the Intelligentsia club captain, Water Polo captain and Model United Nations club captain. I'm also heavily involved in debating and public speaking, taking part in many competitions throughout the year representing my school. I'm also a member of the Labor Party of Australia. I've been doing volunteer work at a Physiotherapy clinic since November 2010 four hours a week during school term and upto 12-16 hours a week on school holidays. I also received a leadership position as a 'Prefect' at school. Do I sound like the type of student that these prestigious colleges are looking for?

I wonder if Hopefulstudent knows I'm joking.
All I do is program and I'm being considered for MIT, I mean like... he knows the answer.
-
So honestly, what do you guys think? Going to Harard has been one of my biggest dreams since I was really young, I'm afraid I'm not perfect though.
-
They don't want perfect, man. Just apply and see what happens.

I was told that it was almost certain that I would be appointed as a prefect during second round offers so that's what I'm basing my comments on. Who are you?

its all luck of the draw to a certain extent. Some years they are looking for some kind of students other years they are looking for others. I can say, that your academics must still be very excellent unless you are aiming to go there based on sports.
Unfortunatley haileybury isn't the greatest aps sports school, esp. for rugby.. :P

Thanks for that haha I'll just apply and hope for the best I guess.
On the topic of rugby, we did with the grand final last year :P The team is a lot weaker this year though most of our top players graduated last year.

Ah, that's something I didn't know. Good thing I'm at Haileybury then otherwise I may not have the "First Rugby team" to put on applications.
-

-
LOL nah no worries - um, just wanted to keep my options open.
-
