alrightttt
so I'm doing my enrollment thingo right now for UoM, and I've just got some questions regarding the Commonwealth Assistance Form
It says if I pay the full fee up front, I get a 20% discount. Is it actually 20%? Cause I've been told it's been cut down to 10%
Also, is the full up front payment for an entire year? Or one semester?
Also, what type of discount would I get if I paid $500 or more upfront? At first it says 10% but later on it says 20%
I've also been told that it's neither of these two, that it's actually 5%
Also, if I decide to pay a certain amount upfront, how will I go about doing it? As in, after I tick the box that says 'Obtain a HECS-HELP loan for ALL or PART of my student contribution amount', what then?
If I do obtain a HECS-HELP loan - which I probably will - how will I go about paying it off? When would I have to start paying it off and would I incur any interest or anything like that?
also, does whatever I just said make any sense to you? Or do I just not know what I'm talking about
Thanks

The benefits used to be 20/10, they've since been slashed to 10/5 afaik. The university haven't updated their website yet, possibly because the legislation is still pending (not sure).
As for how you pay, the university will send you a nice bill and you can pay all/part of it via direct debit, bpay etc.
Anything you don't pay will be taken back via the tax system when you earn over 40k. It's indexed to the CPI each year
