Post by: Mauli on January 23, 2012, 03:45:18 pm
Hey people :)

I'm writing my oral and would love any ideas you guys have about the topic of surrogacy.
Whether you are for it, against it or really don't care, I'd love to hear your opinions about it.
It would really help me build up some srong arguments in the oral :)

Thanks everyone

I think surrogacy is great for a couple who can't conceive naturally. I'm nowhere near wanting to be a parent, so I can't imagine the feeling of being unable to have a family. For most women, I suppose becoming a surrogate is probably not something we'd be comfortable with. However, to enable someone to have a family would be a great feeling. You're giving people opportunities that wouldn't normally be available to them.

I'll let other people contribute... otherwise I might go crazy :P

A lot of surrogates come from poor countries, where women may feel their only chance of making any income is to sacrifice their own bodies (whether it be prostitution, surrogacy etc). So while they are technically 'willing' to undertake surrogacy, it is highly likely that they would prefer not to sacrifice themselves in such a way.
