I'd highly recommend you do it in semester 2 because the lecturer in first semester is really boring and monotonal, while the lecturer in second semester is great apparently! So definitely save it for semester 2 if you wanna have an enjoyable experience in the subject! Haha

Do you know if it's possible to do this subject as breadth (bcom) in my 2nd year?

I haven't done this subject myself Personally but alot of my friends have. This subject relies heavily on wrote learning heaps of case studies. All of the assessment all hangs in your ability to recall information from the textbook as the exam and the three tests during the semester will all be Multiple Choice. Overall, from what I hear, unless you want to pursue Law further on in your course or your career, the subject is overall quite dry.

Neither. You can plan it to your liking.

It sounds as though you need to spend a lot of time to do all that :o
