Does anyone know how long the applications typically take to be assessed for the diploma of languages? I only completed the application on Wednesday but am concerned as we only have until Monday to enrol in subjects and the student centres don't operate on weekends meaning they would have to assess it today or Monday for me to enrol on time :/ I can't enrol in the language subjects as my breadth as I'm already using them so I'd have to use the separate diploma study plan to enrol but can't until it's approved.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. You could always apply for the diploma next year and cross credit the two first year subjects to it anyway.

Edit: just called them - I can wait until after the 30th of January to finish enrolling.

You can enrol into subjects well after the 30th, but you can start to input your timetable after 10am on the 30th - this is why people are in a rush to get everything done by monday. It's really unecessary...so not to worry (Y)
(plus what panicmode said...you can actually enrol into the subjects now as your breadth so you can begin your timetabling)

has any tried enrolling languages into breadth? i don't think you can, yet. Having done VCE jap, i tried to enrol into jap 3 for breadth. However it says that i haven't fulfilled prereqs. Obviously, i'll have to wait until i can do my placement test. For now, i have "replacement" breadths, just in case :P

I haven't tried but I'm planning to do French and the handbook just said VCE French study score below 35 in one subject, above 35 in the other.
I'm sticking to the course plan on their website which says I have to do 4 science, 2 breadth and 2 languages this year so I can't enrol in them as breadth as I've already chosen other subjects. I have to wait for the application to be approved so I can enrol in the languages on the separate Diplang study plan.
I hope they do that soon as I don't want to get stuck with an awful timetable D:
