Hey everyone, just need some help with this - I am planning on going overseas for a holiday starting on 31st March and then coming back on 22nd of April.
The uni Easter break is from 6th to 15th of April, and because I have 3 days of uni per week, I will miss 6 days of uni all up. Is this allowed? And what will I have to do in terms of missing the tutes (lectures won't be a problem) and also if there are assignments due during that 3 weeks?
Thanks!

If your tutorials have an attendance requirement, then you'll be screwed, otherwise it won't matter. You will also be expected to hand in assignments on time, a holiday is no excuse.
That being said, if you don't have things on, taking time off to do other things is completely fine (though academically inadvisable).

If there's an attendance requirement missing 2 tutes would put you at the maximum missed for the semester (assuming 11 tutes and a 75% hurdle), so if you don't miss any others or can get a doctor's note then it's fine

Why are you planning a holiday for when you have uni? That's a really terrible idea. Have you made sure you don't have any assessment during these dates? Have you checked for attendance requirements?

I think it's pretty unadvisable, it'd be better to wait until midyear, there's just too many issues including the tute issue which Russ has outlined and the assignments issue, not to mention you'll be behind by two weeks when you're back, which might put you in a tough position.

I don't think it's a big deal, just make sure you don't miss anything important and hand stuff in on time. Only you would know how much you actually get out of going to class anyway.
