Title: The Lot in Words
Post by: TMlight on April 02, 2012, 11:51:19 am
"What are Leunig’s views of the factors that shape a person’s reality?"

Hey, the prompt is above. Wondering if i can get ideas for this? I know the cliche factors are media and government- I would like to get some more unique factors for this though, and more importantly his (Leunig's) views on these factors.

It has to be in expository style, any tips for form or techniques to use?
Thanks in advance!

what context?

Whose Reality

Not sure on Leunig's view as I haven't read The Lot, but some other factors are:
Experiences, parents/upbringing, society, culture, social cliques, role models, friends, attitudes? (e.g. racial prejudice), age, socio-economic status, current emotional state, etc.

It is bit unusual for a prompt to specify the text. So form-wise this is probably an indication that the teacher wants you to address the text more directly than you would normally be expected to for a SAC or exam prompt.

Yeah we have to reference the text specifically in this one.
Any tips for expository writing, something fresh or known to be effective?
